Beard Papa "SHIRO
Beard Dad's "Shiro". It is a summer-only menu item that has received mixed reviews from those who have tried it, but I had never tried it before. However, I had never tried it before, but I felt that just looking at it with a sideways glance would leave me with a hazy feeling, so I took the plunge and bought a bottle.Shiro, as the name suggests, is a pastry made of white dough with white cream. The price is 200 yen (tax included). Since it is listed on the menu along with various flavors of cream puffs, looking as if it were one of them, it is easy to assume that it is a type of cream puff, but in fact, it is not.
First of all, Beard Papa's other cream puffs usually come in a white paper package, but Shiro's come out of the refrigerated section in a transparent wrapper.
In addition, the dough of other cream puffs is usually crispy or crunchy, but Shiro's dough is chewy and very stretchy. Even if you put a knife into it, it is not easy to cut. Even if you want to share it, it would be better to tear it by hand.
The cream in it is not custard, but "fromage cheese cream. It has a slight cheese aroma and milkiness.
If you eat it expecting cream puffs, you will definitely be surprised at what it is. However, if you eat it as a different kind of cream puff from the beginning, you will enjoy the resilient texture on the outside and the soft, smooth sweetness on the inside. The coolness of the whole thing is also pleasant to the tongue. It is a pastry that would go well with a cup of strong black coffee.
