Momofuku noodles

"MOMOFUKU NOODLE" opened in October this year (2018). A custom-made cup noodle shop in collaboration with Nissin Foods and Hankyu Umeda Main Store in Osaka.

The "Momofuku Noodles" on sale are premium cup noodles with the concept of "plenty of vegetables." The big attraction is that you can make it to your liking. You can freely combine 3 types of smoothie soup and 10 types of vegetable ingredient "Yasaikoro". The price is 540 yen (tax included).

Behind the transparent partition, soup powder and colorful ingredients are lined up. If you tell the staff about the combination, they will put it in the cup in front of you. It's exciting to see how your own cup noodles are made!

Finish with a mechanical lid and you're done. You can enjoy this process right in front of you.

To make it, pour boiling water up to the inner line, cover it with an outer lid, and wait for 3 minutes. Add the attached sauce (maybe later if you like) and mix well to complete.

◆ Green

The soup is spinach and broccoli green smoothie soup. The thick soup has a good sense of "vegetable paste-likeness", and the taste is tightly condensed. Deep richness is dissolved in the saltiness. Add a refreshing scent with the attached basil paste from the middle.

Noodles are made in 3 layers by sandwiching a layer containing dietary fiber with a layer containing whole grains. It is a flat wave type and is often entwined with soup. The rich soup makes the noodles non-fried and light. It's more like a fashionable Italian soup pasta than ramen.

Dietary fiber is equivalent to 2 lettuce

Yadikoro, which is the ingredient, is made by hardening and drying pasty vegetables. I chose tomatoes, red peppers, edamame, and beets this time. All of them loosen on the tongue and spread their flavors. The natural sweetness of the vegetables makes the taste more mellow. You can also top it with salad chicken or hot spring eggs yourself.

Natural sweetness

◆ Red

The soup is Italian red with tomato and red paprika. The bright red soup is filled with the flavor of tomatoes. The fresh sweetness that remains in the mouth is probably due to the red paprika. Sprinkle the attached balsamic vinegar sauce to add a soft acidity.

For yadikoro, choose avocado that melts in your mouth, sweet carrots and pumpkins, and spinach. The quality of spinach is higher than I expected, and I can feel that bluish flavor firmly (there is no harshness at all).

◆ Yellow

Ethnic curry soup with carrots and coconut milk. Pour hot water and wait for the sweet scent of coconut to soften. After the mellow flavor, a slight spiciness remains. Tom Yum paste adds depth to the taste and makes it authentic.

Personally my favorite

The selected yadako is edamame, potatoes, corn, and spinach. The soft yadikoro is like a curry ingredient that has been slowly simmered and thickened. The corn and potatoes are sweet and are loved by both children and adults.

When I heard that vegetables were the main cup noodles, I imagined a lighter taste, but they were all rich and delicious. I felt that being able to choose the ingredients and see them made in front of me also led to a sense of satisfaction.

The shop also sells "Recommended Select", which is a combination of recommended yadikoro that matches each soup in advance. It seems good to buy it as a souvenir separately from your own made-to-order.
