Obisen are a famous Miyazaki confectionary produced in Obi, a castle town in Nichinan City, which is called Kyushu's little Kyoto. The crispy dough, similar to that of Obi rice crackers, is glued together with sugar syrup, and is characterized by its light, crispy texture and soft, fluffy texture.

Obisen Mango

The Obisen series, created in 2016, is a more casual version of the traditional Obi rice crackers. Obi rice crackers with no molasses are combined with Obi jam, which is spread on the crackers to enjoy.

How to make "OBISEN (Obisen) Mango" to eat by coating yourself.
way of making

There are two types of jam: "kumquat jam" and "mango jam. The mango jam in the "OBISEN Mango" that I purchased was made in collaboration with "Miyazaki Nagatomo Farm," which supplies ripe mangoes to Miyazaki Kanko Hotel and other hotels. The jam is made to "bring out the flavor of the ingredients themselves.

OBISEN mango jam, which you apply and eat yourself

This mango jam is absolutely delicious! The mango jam is made with large pieces of mango pulp, and the juicy sweetness of the mango condensed in the jam spreads in your mouth. The fibery texture remains on the tongue, making you feel as if you are biting into a raw mango.

Look at this mellow texture and the size of the pulp.

The Obi rice crackers with jam sandwiched between them have a crispy, savory flavor, a soft, smooth texture that disappears in the mouth, and the rich sweetness of the mango combined with the smooth texture of the mango makes for a "hit" taste. The jam tastes better when it is spread generously, but be careful when eating it, as it will spill over the edges if you sandwich it between two pieces!

Tastes even better with vanilla ice cream topping!

Not only as it is, but adding vanilla ice cream to it makes it even better! The sweetness and richness of the cold ice cream matches the flavor of the mango, and you can enjoy the taste of a slightly expensive ice cream. It is so delicious that you could eat it indefinitely....

too good to be true

If there is a little jam left over, they recommend spreading it on toast or using it in cooking. It would also be fun to add it to tea.

OBISEN Mango" is a collaboration of traditional taste and the charm of mango. In addition to stores, it is also sold by mail order. Limited quantities are sold each month, so if you are interested, be quick!
