Kiritanpo Cup Soup

Kiritanpo is a specialty of Akita. It is a local delicacy made of mashed rice, grilled on a skewer, and cut into easy-to-eat pieces.

Kiritanpo Cup Soup," which makes it easy to enjoy Kiritanpo, was found at the Akita Furusato-kan, an antenna store in Akita Prefecture. We purchased two kinds from the lineup of "Hinai Jidori Soy Sauce Flavor," "Spicy Curry Flavor," and "Seafood Bouillabaisse Flavor. The price is 594 yen each (tax included).


The black cups contain kiritanpo, vermicelli, and soup stock. First, warm the kiritanpo in the microwave with the whole bag. Then, put everything in the cup, pour hot water and wait for 3 minutes.


Four thick kiritanpo are placed in the freshly made soup. The texture is glutinous and the rice has just the right amount of graininess. The soup soaks into the kiritanpo and the juicy parts are also delicious.

Hinai Jidori Soy Sauce Flavor

In addition to soy sauce and Hinai Jidori chicken broth, the Hinai Jidori Soy Sauce Flavor soup contains bonito extract, burdock root, and maitake mushrooms. The soup has a condensed flavor and sweetness in a salty taste. It is also well mixed with the smooth and slippery vermicelli, and the mellow aroma escapes at the end.

Spicy Curry Flavor

The recipe for the "Spicy Curry Flavor" is the same: wait three minutes, open the lid, and you will be greeted with an appetizing aroma. The flavor of Hinai-jidori chicken and soy sauce is infused into the dish, making it just the right amount of spicy. The sweetness of the kiritanpo is a perfect match.
