I found serious rye bread

The other day, I found a rare bread at the KALDI Wing Takanawa EAST store in Shinagawa. KALDI has all the delicious foods in the world, but you haven't seen much bread, right?

Black bread "Borodinsky rye bread" (540 yen including tax) native to Latvia. One is sliced to a width of about 1 cm. Although it is bread, it is not very large, with a side of about 7 to 8 cm. Rye is said to be the kind of mashed seed that is topped on the top.

A firm and hard hard bread with a solid feeling with one piece. It has a sour scent like yeast. The texture is moist and heavy like a pound cake, and when you bite it, it has a crispy texture. When toasted, it is more fragrant and chewy.

And as I chew, I feel a slight acidity. I wonder ... a taste that you don't often meet in Japan! It seems that the rye-containing bread sold at supermarkets does not have a high rye content, but since this bread contains 50% of the rye, the taste will be so distinctive.

Occasionally chew the topping rye crisply for a spicy flavor. Hmmm, this is also quite unique.

The bread has a slight bitterness and acidity, so it goes well with sweet spreads such as cream cheese, honey and jam. It is also delicious as a sandwich, taking advantage of its rugged taste. The bread doesn't bend very flexibly (it breaks), so open sandwiches may be easier to eat.
