Tonkatsu Tonkatsu Kushikatsu
Tonkatsu Tonkatsu Kushikatsu has delicious green onions

"Tonkatsu Tonki" in Meguro, Tokyo. It's a well-known store that can be lined up before it opens, but if you ever visit it, I would recommend "Kushikatsu without skewers".

A well-known store with an easy-to-enter atmosphere

A short walk from Meguro Station

Tonki is just a few minutes walk from the west exit of Meguro station. It is said that they are also called the Tonkatsu Gosanke in Meguro along with the nearby "Tonkatsu Katsuichi" and "Tonkatsu Taihou".

As soon as you pass through the goodwill, you can smell the fresh oil of frying. There are only counter seats, but it's very spacious, and if you think that a man who seems to be an office worker is enjoying beer with a snack, the family is having dinner together. The atmosphere is not formal and easy to enter, but the movement of the people in the shop is very snappy and pleasant.

I sat at the counter, looked at the menu, and ordered the "Kushikatsu set meal" (1,400 yen, tax included, same below). Orthodox loin and set meals and fins and set meals (both 1,900 yen) were fine, but I wanted to order something different.

Hot tea is delicious

Hot tea, delicious in the air-conditioned store

Hot tea came out immediately. It's extremely hot outside, but the inside of the store is loosely air-conditioned, so I'm very relieved. It doesn't have a special taste, but it has a strong scent and the bright green is pleasing to the eyes. It is strange to think that the tonkatsu restaurant is first impressed with tea.

After waiting for a while while drinking tea, the next thing that came out was a voluminous sardine with colorful shredded cabbage, tomatoes and parsley. The name is Kushikatsu, but the skewers are inserted only when frying and removed when served on a plate.

I was convinced by observing why it took such a lot of time. The cut long onions are fried together with the pork.

It's a time-consuming dish

Take a piece of chopsticks that has been cut into a size that is easy to eat, and try to make teeth. As soon as I bite into the thick, crispy batter, the flavor of the green onion trapped inside spreads in my mouth. The taste of the meat that was simmered together seems to complement it. I feel that the protagonist of this kushikatsu may be green onions instead of meat. If you try removing only the green onions and taste it, it will be sweet. I'm surprised that the green onions that are wrapped in batter and deep-fried are so sweet.

The green onions and meat are put in one batter and fried well.

However, when I grabbed it, I found that the green onions complemented the taste of juicy meat. After all, the opinion changes easily as if meat is the leading role.

The combination of green onion and meat is delicious enough, but when you eat it with sauce or mustard, it surprises your tongue as if it was a different dish.

As it was, I was about to take a breather, but on the way I returned to myself and managed to hold back. If you forcibly pay attention to the shredded cabbage, the green and white mixed colors are beautiful. I associate jade, emerald, and the color of jewels. When you bring it to your mouth, it's crispy and fresh. If you think about it and taste it in your mouth with Katsura, the texture of your teeth and tongue will change and it will be fun.

When you feel the deliciousness of the shredded cabbage and eat it, the shop staff recommends, "How about a little more cabbage?" Immediately reply with a heart at the end of the word, "Oh, please," and ask them to add more. As I tasted the cabbage, the inside of my mouth gradually became refreshed, and the sardines became delicious again.

The new incense is refreshing and the tonjiru is rich

Try the new incense that comes with the set meal. With a refreshing flavor, it is in sharp contrast to Katsutoshi. The color is beautiful, the texture is good, and white rice is recommended.

On the other hand, the tonjiru is thick with thick meat. The saltiness is also a little strong, and even if you add plenty of shichimi, it has a personality that is comparable to the spiciness and aroma.

The tonjiru is thick, and even if you shake the shichimi mercilessly, you won't lose.

I was fascinated by the fact that by carrying chopsticks in order, I could enjoy it forever and ever, and when I realized that everything was in my stomach.

There is a shop staff who says "please" and often serves warm towels. I wiped my hands and stood at the counter, thinking that everything was going on. It was very satisfying, but leaving the store was still a bit of a mess.
