In commemoration of the 55th anniversary of the familiar "Aisu Manju" this year (2017), a slightly high-class "premium type" has appeared. "PREMIUM Ice Manju Vanilla" and "Yame Matcha" are on sale from September 11th.
Ice Manju is a long-selling product of Marunaga Confectionery (Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture), which has been loved for more than half a century since it was released in 1962. In the plump plum bowl-shaped ice cream, there is plenty of soft azuki bean. It fills my stomach with a chewy texture, and I personally think that it is an excellent ice cream that can be enjoyed regardless of the season.
The premium iced manju that appeared this time is a special iced manju that "tastes the commitment". It is finished with a rich taste using domestic milk and fresh cream.
◆ I tried it!Vanilla is an ice cream with a milk fat content of 15% and azuki bean paste from Hokkaido. The ice cream is fluffy, and the mouthfeel is heavy, which is typical of ice cream. It has a stronger milky feel than the usual ice cream, and has a rich richness and flavor, and the mellow aroma of vanilla spreads in your mouth. Of course, the chewy texture of azuki beans is still alive!
On the other hand, Yame Matcha is an ice cream with a milk fat content of 13.5%, which is made by adding Yame Matcha and Yame Gyokuro, and wraps azuki bean paste from Hokkaido. You can enjoy the elegant bitterness and the deep flavor of tea. Needless to say, it goes well with azuki beans that have plenty of it in it!
Premium ice cream with a rich taste and texture. The estimated price is 180 yen each (excluding tax), and the price setting is a little "premium" than usual. However, I feel that this deliciousness is rather good value. If you find one, give it a try!
