Founded in 1960, Oginopan has a factory in Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture. One of the "specialty breads" made here is "Tanzawa Anpan," which is hand-wrapped and baked by craftsmen.

This is very delicious when I try it! The thin skin is moist and plump, and the rich flavor of the bean paste blends in with the bean paste, giving it a taste like Japanese sweets. It's the size of a colon and the palm of your hand, but it's perfect for eating! If you like Anpan, please try it ...!

The size fits in the colon and palm, but the satisfaction is high!

◆ A lot of red bean paste with various flavors!

Tanzawa Anpan is an anpan made after the Tanzawa Mountains, where the Oginopan Group is located. It is characterized by its swelling shape, which is the image of a mountain. No two breads have the same shape because the craftsmen wrap them in their hands and bake them.

The lineup includes 8 to 10 flavors such as bean paste, red bean paste, white bean paste, sesame, yuzu, chestnut, purple potato, and pumpkin. Now it's seasonal, and Zunda Lemon is also available (at the time of writing the article).

◆ The skin is good

Of course, the bean paste inside is important, but the skin (dough) is also responsible for most of the deliciousness! I think that the scent and melting in the mouth when biting is very important, but the skin of Tanzawa Anpan feels particular about this.

The dough for Tanzawa Anpan is made from domestic wheat called "Ezo deer" from Hokkaido. This gives a rich flavor and a moist texture that matches the taste of Japanese people with little saliva.

It ’s delicious even if you just tear off the skin and eat it.

If you're happy that the dough that melts without dryness and the bean paste that's packed in plenty melt in your mouth ... (Omitted below)!

By the way, my favorite is "Gyokuro". The taste is so strong that you can see the grains of tea leaves, and the bitterness and umami without any flirting and the lush scent spread throughout your mouth. I want to keep it in my mouth all the time!

Tanzawa Anpan has the real thrill of being able to meet different flavors depending on the season and being able to enjoy various flavors at once because it is small. However, even if it is small, it is packed and quite satisfying, and the expiration date is short, so please consult with your stomach before purchasing!
