Maxim's-style Napoleon pie is a cake that Kihachi's founder, Kihachi Kumagai, remembered when he was training at the three-star restaurant "Maxim" in Paris, France. Impressed by its deliciousness, he continues to make strawberries with homage when the strawberries are in season every year.

The puff pastry baked in thin layers is softly combined with creme shanti and custard cream to bring out the texture of the crispy puff pastry. For strawberries, "Tochiotome" from Tochigi prefecture, which is said to have a good balance of acidity and sweetness, is used.
