Calpis' diluted liquid ginger tea, "Ginger Tea for Dilution," will be available year-round starting August 19 in 300 ml packages for 368 yen.
This product was released in 2011 in limited quantities and again in 2012 for a limited time. Ginger tea is usually drunk in the winter, but there were many requests for it in the summer, so it is now sold year-round.
The new product has also been redesigned to provide a more authentic ginger flavor. The drink is made by combining domestic ginger juice and honey, which gives it a tangy ginger flavor with the gentle sweetness of honey.
It can be mixed with hot water, soda water, or added to tea or hot milk as a syrup, making it an enjoyable drink in a variety of ways. It is also said to be useful as a countermeasure against "air-conditioning chill.
