MUJI's "Yukkejang over rice" is spicy and delicious! Korean style soup and rice

MUJI "YUKKEJANG over rice

MUJI's "Yukkejang over Rice" is reviewed in person. This is a retort food modeled after a local Korean dish.

YUKEJEJAN over rice

Shredded beef, bean sprouts, and royal ferns are stewed in a broth characterized by the spiciness of chili peppers. Each 180g (6.35oz) pack is priced at 290 yen (tax included).

Since it is a retort, simply heat it up and it is ready to cook. Place the bag in boiling water without opening the seal and heat for 4 to 5 minutes, or place in a deep heatproof container, cover with plastic wrap, and microwave in a 500W microwave oven for about 2 minutes. Also, rice does not stick, so it must be prepared separately (standard is 150g (5.29oz)).

I tried yukkejang over rice.

The silky broth is as spicy as it looks red! It has a tangy and peppery flavor. However, it is also full of umami, and the impression on the palate is that the spiciness and umami are in competition. The spiciness and umami go well with the rice, and the chopsticks (or spoon) go on and on.

The ingredients, while not flashy, are rich in variety, including the umami of beef, the richness of bean sprouts, and the soft texture of royal ferns. The addition of chunky rice also adds variety to the dish.

This product makes it easy to enjoy authentic Korean-style soup and rice at home. It will warm you up and fill you up!
