Tateshodo's "Junmai Senbei" - simple but super delicious! Light texture, exquisite saltiness, and richness of salad oil

I came across a simple, but insanely delicious rice cracker. Let me introduce you to Rissodo's Junmai Senbei.

Rissho-do "Junmai Senbei

In the late 1950s, when soy sauce-flavored rice crackers were the mainstream, Rissodo introduced a rice cracker with a moderately salty taste using salad oil, which was still a luxury item at the time. It is a long-selling product that has been loved for its unchanged manufacturing method and flavoring. The product contains 10 bags of 2 crackers (20 crackers in total) and is available at supermarkets for 285 yen (tax not included).

This product uses carefully selected Uruchi rice. The rice is milled as it is in order to concentrate the flavor of the rice. During the dough making process, only the best dough is sorted out by skilled workers.

These crackers have an appetizing brown color. It has a good thickness and a light crispy texture. It crumbles comfortably with a light sound.

The seasoning is not too salty, but not too salty either. The more you bite into it, the more the gentle sweetness and savory flavor of the rice spreads. You can feel the richness of the oil, but it does not leave a greasy taste in your mouth. The taste is simple, yet lingering.

If I'm not careful, I might end up eating them all at once, so I make a vow to eat no more than one bag a day (or two if it's a good day). The taste is so addictive. If you see them at the supermarket, please try them!
