The Hokuriku soul food deep-fried arare "beaver" is now available in a new Pokémon Bippa design! The flavor is "Oren-ji" flavor, which is inspired by "Oren-nomi," a type of mushroom that appears in Pokémon games. The crispy fried arare is filled with the fresh and sweet taste of orange.


The package features an adorable "Bippa" with an indescribable expression on his face. Bippa is a round rat Pokémon that appears in the 2006 Pokémon game "Pokémon Diamond Pearl," and lives in the Shin-Ou region of the Pokémon world.


The moment I opened the package, wow! It smells sweet and sour! The citrus aroma is stronger than I expected. In the ingredients list, too, there is glutinous rice (from Hokuriku), vegetable oil and fat followed by orange seasoning (containing orange). Also, kelp (Hidaka kelp) is used.


When you take a bite,...... the presence of citrus is still amazing! It is sweet...... I see....... The orange flavor spreads in your mouth, followed by the saltiness and the savory taste of the okaki. The aftertaste is a sweetness that lingers in the mouth. It is a strange sensation. I was surprised at first, but once you get used to it, you may find it quite addictive. However, it still has a strong citrus flavor, so it may not be to everyone's liking. If you like sour and sweet snacks, this is for you.
