Biscuit Shortcake Recipe

Ingredients (for 1 or 2 servings

) The recipe is based on Morinaga Biscuit's recipe.

2 bags (6 sheets) of Marie cookies
100ml (3.38us fl oz) milk
100ml (3.38us fl oz) cream
8g (0.28oz) sugar
4 strawberries

Directions

Pour milk into a flat-bottomed bowl and dunk the Marie biscuits one by one. Dip each side for about 3 seconds. Place on a cookie sheet lined baking sheet or mesh.

Backside.

Note that if placed directly on the surface, moisture will cause the back side to stick.

Whip the cream with a whisk, adding sugar. Slice 3 strawberries.

Place a marie in the center of the plate and layer in this order: whipped, sliced strawberries, whipped, marie. Repeat until all the marries are gone.

Finally, use a butter knife or similar tool to lightly press down on the top to overflow the whip on each tier.

tightly (squeezing)

Using the overflowed whipped cream, spread the whipped cream on the sides as well, so that the marie is not visible.

It's a little visible, but that's okay.

Finish...but wrap and refrigerate. Leave for 2-8 hours to allow the marie to moisten and settle. If you leave it out, the marries will not be soft enough and the cake will fall apart when you pierce it with a fork.

Remove, top with the remaining strawberries, and you're done.

How does it taste?

The marries soaked in milk and allowed to settle have a different face from the usual crispy marries. They are moist and soft, and melt in your mouth with the whipped cream. The unique savory flavor blends into the whipped cream and is superb! It is different from sponge cakes, but it is a new taste without the dreaded substitutes.

Another attraction of this cake is that it can be arranged in a wide range of ways. You can use fruits other than strawberries, of course, or even add dried fruits soaked in wine to give it a mature look. You can also try using coffee or cocoa instead of milk for a bittersweet flavor.

Marie biscuit cakes are easy to make without fire or molds. How about a holiday treat?
