Izumiya Main Store, Kannon-dori, Asakusa

Izumiya Honten is located on Kannon-dori in Asakusa. It was established in 1940. The rice crackers are made from high-quality domestic Uruchi rice, glutinous rice, soy sauce, seaweed, natural salt, and other ingredients, and are dried and baked naturally in the traditional way. There is one store in the Nakamise shopping street and two stores on Kannon-dori.

At this store, I found a cute rice cracker that captured the heart of a cat lover. I bought one and actually tried it!

Izumiya Neko Senbei

The popular "Neko Senbei" is a rice cracker in the shape of a cat. There are three size patterns: large cat (11 cm across), medium cat (7 cm), and small cat (3 cm).

The rice cracker (large cat) we got this time comes in four types: seaweed, white sugar, sauce, and sesame. Prices start at 200 yen (tax included, same below). The bag has a sticker with an illustration of a cat on it.

The nori has a light soy-sauce flavor, the white sugar is soft and sweet and melts when chewed, the sauce has an appetizing aroma that is addictive, and the sesame seeds have a distinctive savory and sesame flavor, each tasting delicious! They are all crispy and light.

Neko Arare "Koneko in a bag

If you want to enjoy a variety of flavors at once, we recommend the "Koneko in a bag" 100g (3.53oz) package, priced at 1,000 yen. It contains a sheet of the stickers that were attached to the large cat package.

Perfect souvenir!

The set includes various flavors of chopped nori, aonori (green laver), zarame (soybean flour), and matcha (powdered green tea). Bite-sized and easy to eat, they are recommended as a snack for children.
