illa & Coffee Jelly" Cup dessert "Vanilla & Coffee Jelly" went on sale at LAWSON stores on August 1. It is said to be an "affogato-like jelly" that allows you to enjoy the contrast between the bitterness of coffee and the sweetness of vanilla, but an affogato is a dessert made by pouring espresso over vanilla ice cream. I was curious to see how the "vanilla ice cream" that makes up a large part of its identity would be reproduced in a chilled dessert...!


So I bought some. The price is 297 yen including tax, and the calorie count is 158 kcal per serving.

I tried the "Vanilla & Coffee Jelly"

Coffee jelly is placed at the bottom of the cup, and whipped cream is placed on top of the coffee jelly.


So, the vanilla ice cream part of the affogato was actually vanilla mousse!

The coffee jelly is soft and smooth. It has a full-bodied, sharp bitterness and a pleasant aroma that escapes through the nose. The mild milkiness of the whipped cream and the bitter coffee sauce blend together in the mouth, making it taste like a café latte!


The vanilla mousse that replaces the vanilla ice cream is light, fluffy, and smooth. It does not have the cool feeling of ice cream, but the melt-in-your-mouth texture, creamy vanilla flavor, and rich sweetness combined with the coffee is truly affogato...!


I know I've said a lot of things, but this is a very tasty coffee jelly. Depending on where you scoop it with a spoon, the coffee flavor is stronger, while the vanilla and milk flavors are stronger. It is not too sweet and is recommended as a snack or dessert for adults, especially for coffee lovers!
