Izu Direct Mail Wasabi

I got "Izu Direct Mail Wasabi Chocolate" as a souvenir from my trip to Shizuoka, so I tried it! Does it really taste like wasabi?


The miniature package is so cute that it looks like it was shipped in a cardboard box. Inside are 9 chocolates in the shape of a colonized upside-down egg (or is it the shape of wasabi?). When you open the package, you will see a white chocolate with a hint of green. When I tried it, I was surprised... Hmmm? It's not spicy at all, it's just a normal tasty chocolate.


It melts in your mouth and the rich sweetness of the white chocolate spreads out. It is full of milkiness, and I wonder when the wasabi will arrive. I wondered when the wasabi would arrive, but it was all melted away. There is no tingling aroma of wasabi, simply delicious white chocolate! If you sharpen your nerves, you may notice a slight fresh taste of wasabi, but if you don't ask, you won't even notice it.

To be honest, it would have been better if they had made it more chili-like...but I couldn't deny the feeling that they were being a little too careful. It's delicious, though.


However, I personally think it is quite excellent as a souvenir to give to others. First of all, the package is cute and exciting, and the impact of wasabi and chocolate leaves a strong impression on the recipient, and then there is the gap of sweet and gentle white chocolate when you try it. The taste is delicious, so you can have them eat it without any trouble.


By the way, in addition to Wasabi, there are also strawberry and mikan flavors in this series of direct delivery chocolates, and these have a strong strawberry and mikan flavor. These were very nostalgic, reminding me of the chocolate snacks I used to buy and eat at candy stores when I was a child! It might be a good idea to give them as a set along with the Wasabi flavor.
