McDonald's Price Increase at Inner-City Restaurants

McDonald's announced that it will review prices at 184 stores located in the inner-city area, effective July 19.

Until now, McDonald's has set different prices at about 40 stores in special locations such as airports, train stations, amusement parks, and service areas, as well as at some stores in central Tokyo, in consideration of store operating costs such as rent and labor costs. Against the backdrop of rising store operating costs, the company has now applied new urban-type pricing to some stores in the Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka areas, where the burden of rents, labor costs, and other expenses is particularly heavy. This applies to 184 stores, or about 6% of the approximately 3,000 stores nationwide.

Delivery prices will also be raised. The price of a hamburger will increase from 220 yen (including tax, the same below) to 240 yen. The price of a Big Mac will increase from 540 yen to 590 yen, and the price of a 5-piece Chicken McNugget will increase from 300 yen to 320 yen. Premium Roast Coffee S size will increase from 150 yen to 160 yen, etc.

Please refer to the official website for the participating stores.
