Pancake"

Kappa Sushi's "Gochi CAFE" series will launch a new sweet menu item, "Kimi wo Toriko ni Suru Yume no Pancake" on April 19 (Wednesday), created by students of the Food and Nutrition Department as part of an industry-academy collaboration project with Toita Women's Junior College. This is the first time for Kappa Sushi to conduct an industry-university collaboration project and sell the jointly developed product at its restaurants nationwide.

Pancake that will make you fall in love with it

. Under the theme "Think of a new Kappa Sushi sweets menu using frozen banana slices or banana puree," 13 first-year students in the Food and Nutrition Department were divided into three teams and came up with their own menu. At the final presentation last December, "Dream Pancake that will make you fall in love with Kappa Sushi" was selected as the winning product from among five proposals. The product was then jointly developed with Kappa Create's Product Development Department and is now being sold at Kappa Sushi restaurants nationwide.

The "banana puree" used in this product is a product of the Mottainai Banana project, an SDGs activity to reduce Dole's waste bananas. This product is made from discarded bananas that are still tasty but have to be thrown away due to various factors in the distribution process, thus contributing to the reduction of food loss.

A photogenic sweet that is fun to look at and delicious to eat. You can enjoy the milky texture of condensed milk whipped cream covering the fluffy pancake, the crispy texture of crunchy raspberries, and the sweet and sour taste of strawberry sauce. When you put a fork in, the banana puree that is hidden inside appears.
