"Baumkuchen Expo 2023 Spring" has been announced and will be held at Kobe Hankyu in Hyogo from March 1 to 6 and at Sogo Hiroshima Store in Hiroshima from March 16 to 23.

More than 190 brands from 47 prefectures will participate, offering more than 300 kinds of baumkuchen. Other events include "Baum Tossing," "Brand Booths," "Baumkuchen BAR47," "Freshly Baked Baumkuchen," "Baumkuchen Making Experience," and "Final Kuchen General Election 2023 Spring.

Baum

Throwing "Baum Throwing" is an event in which participants throw baumkuchen-shaped rings three times at targets in eight regions of Japan, and if they all hit the same target, they will win a local baum from that region. The B course will offer a hole of local baum for 500 yen per 3 pitches.
The first 400 people to arrive for both the A and B courses will receive a prize even if they do not hit the target.

Brand

Booths," popular brands from around Japan will open booths where visitors can purchase baumkuchen. At the Kobe Hankyu, there will be 18 brand booths, and at Sogo Hiroshima, there will be 10 brand booths. You can get baumkuchen that you can't usually taste, such as limited products and demonstration sales at the venue.

BAR47

At "Baumkuchen BAR47", you can choose your favorite 5 kinds of baumkuchen from 47 kinds of local baumkuchen and taste them in a bite size. You can enjoy a small selection of baumkuchen you would like to try.

The price is 470 yen per plate (tax included, same below). Hot coffee, iced coffee, and mineral water can be ordered as drinks for 150 yen. All orders will be closed as soon as they run out. Last order 30 minutes before closing time.

Freshly B

aked Baumkuchen "Freshly Baked Baumkuchen" features baked baumkuchen baked by the AI baking machine "THEO," which is specially designed for baumkuchen. The rich egg flavor of this baumkuchen is only available at the Baumkuchen Expo.

At Kobe Hankyu, baked baumkuchen using "Portopia Honey," honey collected from bees at Kobe Portopia Hotel, one of THEO's customers, will be sold. The baking time is limited to one batch per day.

The baking time is from 10:30 for the first batch, 11:30 for the second, 12:30 for the third, 13:30 for the fourth, 14:30 for the fifth, 15:30 for the sixth, 16:30 for the seventh, 17:30 for the eighth, and 18:30 for the ninth on each day.

However, on the last day of the Kobe Hankyu store, the 8th baking starts at 17:30, and on the last day of the Sogo Hiroshima store, the 7th baking starts at 16:30 and ends.

The price is 432 yen per piece.

Baumkuchen Making Experience

There will be a corner where visitors can bake and taste baumkuchen themselves.

Children under elementary school age can participate if accompanied by a parent or guardian. If you cannot finish the baumkuchen, you can take it home at your own risk.

The event takes about 30 minutes. Registration is from 10:00 to 18:30 on each day. Registration closes at 5:30 p.m. on the last day at Kobe Hankyu and at 4:30 p.m. on the last day at Sogo Hiroshima. Contents are subject to change.

The participation fee is 1,100 yen, including a souvenir.

Baum

"Share the Baum" focuses on food loss, and "loss baumkuchen" that do not meet the criteria for gift-giving due to lack of shape and size, but still taste the same, will be sold. The proceeds from this corner will be converted into baumkuchen and delivered to children throughout Japan through the "Otera Oyak Club". The brands available may vary depending on the day.

Amato

Danshi live performance The six-member idol group "Amato Danshi", official special supporter of Baumkuchen Expo 2023 Spring, will hold a live performance.

They will perform their debut single "Baumkuchen" and other sweets songs. The date is March 4. The venue is the Grand Patio on the 2nd floor of the Kobe Hankyu main building. In case of rain, a talk event will be held.

Final Kuchen General Election 2023

Spring

In the "Final Kuchen General Election 2023 Spring," visitors to the venue will first receive a ballot to vote for their favorite baumkuchen. The first 1,000 people to participate each day will receive one baumkuchen.

In addition, each baumkuchen purchased at the venue or at the official online store will count as one vote. In addition, you can vote for your favorite baumkuchen on the official Baumkuchen Expo website as an online vote.
