I actually purchased and tried making popcorn beans that I found at Don Quijote for the price of 398 yen, which I have not verified, but theoretically can make enough popcorn for one classroom (about 35 people). The price was 398 yen (tax not included).

（In theory (but not tested), these popcorn beans can be used to make enough popcorn for one classroom. The beans are for commercial use and come in 1 kg. Made from selected high quality, non-genetically modified U.S. corn.


I was curious about how much popcorn ...... for 35 people, so I decided to make it all at once to try it out.



Put the beans in a large pot, add enough oil to cover the beans, cover with a lid, and heat. When the beans start to pop, shake the pot to prevent them from burning, and keep the pot on the fire until the popping stops. (The beans will burn quickly, so it is important to shake the pot frequently! (Approx. 140 g corn and 50 g oil for 5 servings.)




And here is the finished bag of popcorn! We ran out of containers and managed to serve it using pots and bowls from all over the house. This is a great amount .......


There were the occasional beans that didn't pop, but that was only a small amount, and most made for delicious popcorn. The flavor is plain, so you could salt it to taste, toss in some caramel, or sprinkle some curry powder or consommé if you like! Freshly made popcorn is savory and delicious~! The bag has a zipper so you can make small batches. And it's cosy, too!
