Mike's Popcorn Original Kyokumidashi Flavor

The "Mike's Popcorn" series celebrated its 65th anniversary this year. As the culmination of the series, the largest number of developers in the history of Japan Frito-Lay were mobilized to develop a new product to surpass the long-selling "Butter Soy Sauce Flavor". After three years of planning, the new product, "Mike's Popcorn Original Gokumidashi Flavor," is now on the market.

The flavor was created with a hint from "senri-shu," which was popular before soy sauce was used in Japan, to create the "perfect golden ratio of saltiness and umami" that the Japanese like, and to create a continuous eating experience that is hard to stop once you start eating. The moment you put it in your mouth, you will first taste the sharp saltiness of rock salt, followed by the umami and savory flavors of dried bonito flakes and sake. Finally, the acidity of the ume plum gives it a crisp aftertaste that is refreshing and clean.
