From Koikeya, "Potato Chips Imakane Otoko Shaku Light Taste" and "Potato Chips Imakane Otoko Shaku Nori Shio", which are made from 100% of the potato "Imakane Otoko Shaku" made in Imakane Town, Hokkaido, will be released. Limited to the Koike-ya online shop, reservations will start from September 16th, and will be shipped sequentially from the beginning of October. There will also be a "taste comparison set" where you can enjoy two flavors.

According to Koike-ya, Imakane-cho, Hokkaido is suitable for growing potatoes because of the large temperature difference between day and night. Thanks to the blessed land and the efforts of craftsmen who make use of it, "Imakane Otoko Shaku" grows into sweet and chewy potatoes that contain plenty of starch. It is also called a phantom potato because of its rarity, which is only 0.3% of the potatoes shipped all over Japan. In 2019, it will be a registered product based on the "Geographical Indication (GI) Protection System" promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

At Koikeya, potato chips using only the new potatoes of "Imakin Otoko Shaku" harvested in the fall of that year have been on sale at the official online shop since 2015. There are two flavors, the simple "Potato Chips Imakin Otoko Shakusushi Taste" and the traditional Koikeya seasoning "Potato Chips Imakane Otoko Shaku Nori Salt" that uses green laver and sea lettuce. Both are said to be the tastes that you can fully enjoy the umami and sweetness of Imakane Shaku.
