Katsuya's four popular standard menus were running for three days from December 6th to 8th, all for 500 yen (excluding tax, the same applies below), so the regular price is the highest, "Katsu Curry (Bamboo)". I tried to eat.

The regular price is 650 yen for katsudon (bamboo) and sauce katsudon (bamboo), 690 yen for loin cutlet set meal, and 790 yen for cutlet curry (bamboo).


In other words, cutlet curry (bamboo) is discounted by nearly 40%. I am attracted to the great value and choose it. There were many people ordering the same menu in Katsuya's store.

The curry that arrived is an oval bowl full of rice and curry, and 120g (4.23oz) of freshly fried roux cutlet is dipped in roux. As a matter of course, shredded cabbage is also included.


Looking at the taste of roux, it is a standard Japanese curry. Familiar spiciness and aroma that is neither Indian curry nor Thai curry, and a thick texture. I'm happy if I put this on a crispy cutlet and eat it.


The roasted meat is juicy, and the fat that gets in between the savory meat overflows with umami. Even if you smoke the curry, the batter still feels good and feels nice every time you chew it.


You can use the shredded cabbage to rest your mouth, but it is also recommended to scoop it with a spoon with the cutlet. The subtle sweetness and freshness of raw vegetables, combined with the rich loin flavor, allow you to enjoy a classic yet compatible taste.

Because the cutlet is big, it is a full-bodied volume for both lunch and dinner. I think that it is less common to order curry at Katsuya than rice bowls, so please take this opportunity.
