"Honey nuts" and pancakes
Honey nuts are also delicious as a topping for pancakes

"Shinanoya", which is a chain store in the Kanto region, has alcohol, snacks, and imported foods. This time, I bought "honey nuts" that can be used as both wine and pancake toppings.

There are two types of Shinanoya, a supermarket and a liquor store, and while they handle a wide range of alcoholic beverages, from wine to beer and sake, there are also different types of snacks that catch the eye. Kyoshoku's "honey nuts" (459 yen, tax not included, same below) are, as the name suggests, pickled nuts in honey.

Let's try Shinanoya's snacks

Three types of almonds, walnuts, and cashew nuts are contained in a jar of honey. I'll scoop it up with a spoon and grab it. It has a honey flavor, but when you chew the nuts, each scent comes later. Almonds have the clearest personality, and walnuts have a very strong scent. Cashew nuts are a little gentle.

You can enjoy not only the crunchy and crispy texture, but also the moist texture of the honey. It looks good with Western liquors such as wine.

It has a slightly moist texture, probably because it is soaked in honey.

The package also says that it is good for pancake toppings as a use other than snacks, so I decided to try that as well. Try it with Nippon-Ham's "SUCRE CAFE Ricotta Cheese Pancake" (398 yen) sold at supermarkets. A convenient dish that can be eaten just by warming it in the microwave.

When you put crispy nuts on a fluffy pancake and eat it together, it has a very interesting texture. The honey on the nuts can be used as a syrup, which goes well with it.

The scent of sweet honey is also strangely scented more clearly than with nuts alone. The movement of the hand that carries the pancake to the mouth with a fork also becomes faster. Perhaps because of the softness of the pancakes, I feel that the subtle differences in hardness of almonds, walnuts, and cashew nuts have become easier to understand.

Fluffy and crunchy, but it would have been better with whipped cream

It's a good topping, but to put it bluntly, the nuts in the snacks originally insisted on the taste separately from the pancakes, and I felt that they were a little disorganized.

This time, I put only nuts, but in order to make it look like a pancake in a shop, it may be better to add whipped cream, which is the overall organizer, and jam with a strong aroma and acidity that is comparable to nuts. unknown. There seems to be a lot of ingenuity.
