I think everyone has manga and anime that they were addicted to when they were children. In the case of me (the author), "Chibi Maruko-chan" is the best. Surreal, funny and warm, I love that unique view of the world, and I read the entire manga repeatedly so that the pages were worn out.

I caught the information that "Chibi Maruko-chan Cafe " with the theme of "Chibi Maruko-chan" opened on the 1st floor of Odaiba / Fuji TV for a limited period of one year. As a Maruko fan, I can't help but go ...! That's why I went to see it!


● The inside of the store is surprisingly (?) Calm space

When you get off at Daiba Station on the Yurikamome and head to the first floor of Fuji TV ... Wow! I found life-sized (?) Maru-chan, Tama-chan, and Hanawa-kun before I went inside! I can't control the screaming of my chest !!


Once inside, Maru-chan in a chef wearing an apron welcomes you! By the way, this illustration was specially drawn for Chibi Maruko-chan Cafe.


I thought that the inside of the store was more pop and peeky, but in reality it was surprisingly chic and calm. The interior is also warmly designed, so it seems that you will stay longer in the relaxing mode. By the way, it is a complete smoke separation.


● A nostalgic theme song from the TV monitor!

The video of the past opening and ending of the anime "Chibi Maruko-chan" is flowing from the TV monitor placed in the back of the audience. Of course, there are songs from the time when I was addicted to Maru-chan in his heyday! I will hum involuntarily.


… When I suddenly noticed another song, the mouth of the staff (another generation) who accompanied me was moving rhythmically. It seems that this year is the 25th anniversary of broadcasting (!), And I feel that the length of history is familiar.

● There are more than 20 types of menus, from "Boo Taro" to "Hanawa Kun"!

Now, let's take a look at the menu again. In addition to 12 kinds of food menus such as "Maru-chan's Healthy Tofu Burg Plate" and "Bootaro's Mellow Pork Curry", dessert menus such as "Hanawa Family Tea Time Set", and drink menus such as "Chibi Maruko-chan's Fresh Juice" Up to, the menu that collaborated with the characters is lined up! It seems that some menus can also be taken out.


I'm worried because there are too many attractive menus ...! This time, "Maru-chan's Healthy Tofu Berg Plate" (1,000 yen), "Nagasawa-kun's Slowly Stewed Onion Soup (with Bread)" (650 yen), "Noguchi-san's Tara and Squid's Finest Spaghetti" (850 yen) and "Maruo-kun's Zubari! Cutlet! Volumetric fin cutlet dog" (500 yen). I love all the characters, so I decided to cut the bowels ...

● I tried it!

・ Maru-chan's healthy tofu burger plate

Maru-chan's favorite hamburger steak is made into a healthy "tofu burger steak". The tofu burger, which is made by combining minced chicken with tofu, cabbage, carrots, and wood ear mushrooms, is topped with heart-shaped carrots and star-shaped radishes, and looks lively! The rice is 16-grain rice, and the top surface is covered with seaweed cut in the shape of Maru-chan's face.



The plump and thick tofu burger is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside! The teriyaki sauce is well-flavored so you won't get tired of it. The light and light 16-grain rice firmly catches the sweet and spicy tofu burger.



It also comes with a salad of red and yellow peppers and onions mixed with Italian dressing, and sauteed bacon and spinach, so it's nice to have plenty of vegetables!

・ Nagasawa-kun's carefully simmered onion soup (with bread)

In the center of the soup with colorful peppers and wieners, Nagasawa-kun and the whole onion are gorori. Moreover, there is Nagasawa-kun's face on the front (the face part is a "soybean sheet". Of course you can eat it)!


It's hard to eat, but I'm sorry to say that! When you put a spoon around the back of the head of Mr. Nagasawa (onion), it's soft and crumbles! It's simmered so slowly that it melts on your tongue, and despite its slightly hateful face, it has no bitterness or spiciness. The sweetness spreads throughout your mouth.


The soup itself has an elegant and gentle taste. It is also delicious to soak bread in a soup that contains plenty of the umami of Nagasawa-kun (onions) that has been simmered well!

・ Mr. Noguchi's squid and squid's finest spaghetti

A menu of spaghetti with plenty of cod roe mixed with squid and topped with perilla. The shape of Mr. Noguchi's face and the balloon of laughter "Cooking ..." are beautifully reproduced with seaweed.



The mellow salty cod roe spaghetti is accented with fragrant seaweed and refreshing perilla.

Mr. Noguchi, personally, it's a point that the name is 45 degrees instead of facing the front! Because it's black, it has a “likeness” even in a slightly dark place, and it's irresistible to fans. While enjoying the texture of squid wrapped in bubble wrap, Mr. Noguchi's laughter echoes in the back of his ears.


By the way, this is the most popular menu in the cafe so far. I wonder if Mr. Noguchi was actually a hidden popular character ...!?

・ Maruo-kun's Zubari! It's cutlet! Hearty pork cutlet dog

A hearty dish of two round pork cutlets with the image of Maruo's glasses sandwiched between cabbage and lettuce. The cutlet is made of mayonnaise and has a "round and round" pattern on the glasses.


When I lift it up, it feels quite heavy! We judge that it is a little difficult for girls to bite at once, so we will ask you to use a knife and fork.


The pork cutlet is thick and soft, and the gravy spreads slowly with each tooth. Amakarai source and the fat of sweetness steeped in cabbage ... frankly! It will be delicious ~ !!


What impressed me even more was that the bread had a savory taste of "outer potash, medium fluffy" and was not cheap at all ! To be honest, because of this price, I imagined a simple dog that was served for lunch when I was a kid, but I was disappointed in terms of quality and quantity.

Suddenly, Maruo-kun, who was slamming his glasses and working hard on the election campaign of the class representative, passed through my mind. Does this mean "Zubari! (In the election campaign) Katsu (win)!"?


Despite the outrage that two people flattened the menu of 4 dishes, everything was delicious, so I ate it without difficulty. After the meal, I ordered "Cafe special fluffy latte Maru-chan (strawberry)" and "Doyuzo (matcha)" from the drink menu.


Maru-chan's strawberry latte has a cute round cheek and bob-headed face drawn with cocoa powder on a fluffy milk foam. I feel a faint sweet and sour strawberry, but the sweetness is not too heavy and the aroma and taste are refreshing.

On the other hand, Yuzo's matcha latte has a cheerful smile on his face. The scent of matcha, the gentle bitterness, and the relaxing sweetness spread ... It seems that haiku of the heart will come out unintentionally!


What impressed me this time was that all the collaboration menus were "delicious" without giving priority to the appearance and neglecting the taste. I also liked the goodness of the cospa, such as a dog with meat and vegetables for 500 yen. It also functions as a cafe, so I wonder if I can enjoy it even if I'm not a Maruko fan.

However, the best way to enjoy it is to enjoy cooking while immersing yourself in that world view. While eating, I was excited to remember various stories related to each character like a magic lantern. It's as if every bite is filled with memories of Maru-chan and her family and classmates ...


You can visit with friends of the same generation and talk about your favorite scenes. It is also good for parents and children to go and hand over their memories to their children, saying, "This is the anime that my mother saw when she was little." How about filling your stomach and heart with deliciousness and nostalgia?
