One of the most famous items at Blake's is the super king-size "Mixed Grill Sandwich" that will make you cry. The price is 850 yen.
As thick as Keigo Higashino's full-length novels.
A sandwich with a lot of ingredients, such as vegetables and eggs, sandwiched between thick bread that is at most five centimeters thick. It looks as thick as a full-length novel by Keigo Higashino, a favorite of mine. And there are four of these on the plate. What a great volume for a gourmand!
There are two sets of sandwiches: an egg + ham + cucumber sandwich and an egg + tomato + cucumber sandwich.
The bread is crispy and savory right up to the ears, while the inside is soft and chewy. When you bite into the bread, the mayonnaise that overflows from the inside is not greasy, but adds flavor, richness, and just the right amount of saltiness, making it very delicious.
Tomatoes and cucumbers are fresh and crispy. Juicy vegetable juices flood your mouth. With such a generous amount of ingredients in between, you might be afraid that some of them would fall out when you bite into it, but no problem, because the edges of the bread are pressed tightly!
By the way, if you can't finish your sandwich, don't worry, they will wrap it up for you to take home. I ate two of the sandwiches in the restaurant and took two out.
Do not order lightly! Giant fruit parfait
After savoring a full sandwich, my mouth was craving something sweet, so I decided to order dessert. From the extensive parfait menu, I ordered the "Fruit Parfait" (800 yen), which looked refreshing...
...a super Bombaye parfait that went above and beyond anything I could have imagined! The fruit is exquisitely balanced, and the whipped cream is drizzled in three directions!
The fruits are watermelon, pineapple, melon, mandarin oranges, yellow peaches, bananas, and cherries. As I proceeded to eat, two large scoops of vanilla ice cream, topped with blueberry sauce, came out of the inside! In addition, there are corn flakes at the bottom of the glass. This is more like excavation than eating.
The volume of food is astounding and does not diminish even after eating. The price of 800 yen for this must be quite inexpensive. Even so, the delicious fruit and the sweet and sour taste of the blueberry sauce whet your appetite, and you can gobble it down with a crunch.
By the way, the trick to eating this parfait is to eat fruits with low sugar content, such as watermelon, first, and fruits with strong sweetness, such as melon and peach, later. That way, you can taste the sweetness of all the fruits to the fullest!
I ate the parfait to my heart's content and left the restaurant very satisfied, with a souvenir sandwich in hand. I left the restaurant feeling completely healed in both mind and body after a great "break" time.
