The long-established coffee shop "Sabouru" is located just outside the A7 exit of Jimbocho Station. It is a store with many fans, with a unique storefront and a retro Showa era atmosphere.

Saboru

The appearance of a unique design like a slightly tilted mountain lodge (excuse me). For some reason, there is a totem pole and a nostalgic red phone at the entrance. I went there around 11 o'clock on weekdays, but there were still many vacant seats and I was guided to the seats as they were.



The interior is dim and messy. I sat on the second floor (?) Seat with a step. There is a counter on the right hand side when viewed from the entrance, and you can see how the staff are working hard.


Aged chairs and tables with graffiti-filled walls. There was also a sign that was put in the year before the author was born, and I felt the history of this shop. Showa Kayo was played in the BGM on that day, but by the time he came to school, Hikaru Utada and Spitz had been playing. It's a shop with a slightly different atmosphere, including that area.



I ordered the popular "strawberry juice (550 yen including tax)" and "pizza toast large (750 yen including tax)". In particular, "pizza toast" seems to be a popular menu, and other customers ordered it one after another.

Strawberry juice

The first thing that arrived was "strawberry juice" poured into a tall glass. Raw juice from THE coffee shop! It looks like this.


When you suck up a bite, the sweetness of milky strawberries spreads slowly. Plenty of crushed pieces of ice are put in, and the crispy texture is a nice accent. It's sweet, but it's not crap, so you can drink it.

Pizza toast

The late "pizza toast" is a dish that uses plenty of cheese in thick slices of bread. I was fascinated by the scent of bread and cheese that stood up.


The ears are crispy, the dough is fluffy, and the hot cheese and tomato sauce are entwined. The ingredients are peppers, onions, ham, etc. This alone is good enough, but if you want, I'd be happy if the ingredients were cut a little larger.

sherbet

After eating the pizza toast and taking a break, he said, "How about a sherbet at the service?" There was such a service! I usually only ordered coffee, so I didn't know. Of course, to have it.


When you put it in your mouth, a fresh scent spreads. The bubble wrap texture that I sometimes feel is like yuzu peel. Lastly, it's nice to have a refreshing mouth.


Jimbocho "Sabouru" is perfect for when you are a little hungry, when you want to talk with friends, when you want to read the loot you got at a second-hand bookstore, or when you want to skip a little. Meals are also offered at a great price at the adjacent "Sabouru2". I want to visit here next time.
