"Fluffy, soft" bread (except for some hard bread). If you carry it in a bag and accidentally crush it, you will be sad.

"Walnut croissant galette" overturns such a concept. It's a croissant that looks like it's been hit by a car. I found a store in Tokyo of the bakery chain "Saint Germain" that operates mainly in the Tokyo metropolitan area. When I asked the shop staff, it was a new product released in mid-December (* Some stores do not handle it). The price was 173 yen (tax included).

This one uses the same dough as the croissant, but it doesn't seem to have been crushed once it has been baked. For example, like French toast, I didn't modify what was once established as bread, but it's petanko from the time I was born. I was curious, so I decided to try it.

The size is about 9 cm in length x 28 cm in width x 1 cm in height (thickness) (measured at the longest part). Except for sliced bread, I've never seen such a thin bread. The whole is candy-hardened, and although it is nearly 30 cm long, it does not get worn out even if you hold it in your hand.

The candy that sticks out. It looks like the "feathers" of dumplings. When you put it in your mouth, it has a crispy texture that reminds you of thin ice on the surface of the water. The sweetness of simple sugar begins to melt.

The surface of the dough is crispy, but the inside is tightly packed and chewy. Each time you chew, the flavor of butter spreads from the loosened dough, and the aroma spreads from the crushed walnuts. Due to the candy, the overall taste is sweeter and more like a pie confectionery.

It's chewy and takes a long time to eat, so it's perfect for people who say, "I'm sad to finish eating croissants in an instant ...". It's also nice that the skin doesn't scatter or stick around your mouth when you bite. Of course, even if you put it in a bag, it will not collapse (however, there is a possibility that it will break). There are various merits when it becomes thinner.
