The popular pancake shop "Clinton Street Baking Company" opened in August 2013 as the first shop in Japan in Omotesando, Tokyo. The name is long, so fashionable people call it "Clinton" for short, or not. It seems that this shop has won the prestigious title of the most delicious pancake shop in New York Magazine magazine twice!

What is the breakfast pancake that fascinates men and women of all ages in New York? I decided to go eat to see the taste!


The shop is located along Kotto-dori, a 7-8 minute walk from Omotesando Station. Even though it is before 10 am on weekdays, 12 customers are already lined up.

I also got to the end of the line. The outside air is still 4 degrees with the snow still melting. It's going to be a tough fight.


After waiting 25 minutes, I finally went to the store! To be honest, the cold weather made me feel like I was going to break my heart many times, but thanks to the sweet scent that drifted outside, I managed to stop.

It is said that you can't enter without waiting for an hour, but it's quite a record that it's less than 30 minutes. Perhaps Saturday and Sunday will be even more crowded.


The audience seats are on the 1st and 2nd floors, and the author was guided to the table seats on the 2nd floor. The interior is simple and fashionable, including tables, chairs and lighting.



It's finally time to order. This time, I decided to order one of the shop's signature menus, "Pancake with Maple Butter Blueberry" (1,500 yen without tax) and Cafe Latte (600 yen without tax).


First of all, the latte was brought in. Warm caffeine that soaks into your cold body. The formy milk is mellow.


While warming up with a latte, I was staring at the pancakes that were being carried to the tables on both sides with a grudge, and finally the long-awaited pancakes arrived! My ... my pancakes ...! !!


The three-tiered pancakes are topped with blueberry sauce with thick fruits and powdered sugar like powdered snow. The sauce reflects light brilliantly, making it look like a shining jewel.

When you put a knife in a pancake about 1 cm thick, it cuts softly and a beautiful layer appears. Blueberries are sandwiched between the pancakes ...!


The moment you put it in your mouth, the sweet and sour berry sauce pops. The pancake itself is surprisingly simple and has a simple sweetness. The outside is crispy and fragrant, and the dough is fine and fluffy. Not too hot, not too lukewarm, and the temperature is just right. Perhaps because they were piled up, the pancakes could be eaten warm until the last bite.


The attached maple butter, this is also excellent! The aftertaste is not too sweet and has a refreshing taste, and a slight saltiness is felt, which enhances the fragrant taste of pancakes.


It's big enough for two people to share, but thanks to the simple taste of pancakes, sweet and sour blueberry sauce, and moderately sweet maple butter, you can eat it all by yourself.

I was full, so when I went out around 11:30 to leave the store, the line grew further and the number of customers was roughly over 25. Even six months after its opening, this popularity is still the number one pancake shop in New York!
