Houjicha (Houjicha Tea Bags with Milk

): A non-sweet hojicha latte that does not contain sugar. Domestic hojicha leaves are used.

To brew, place the tea bag in a cup, pour boiling water (150 ml), cover and let steep for 90 seconds. At first, the milk is milky white. Gradually, the hojicha dissolves into the tea, creating a light brown milk tea.

The flavor of the milk is milder than expected, with the hojicha taking center stage. The savory flavor and aroma of hojicha tea is softly wafted into the nose. The richness of the milk and the flavor of the tea leaves can be enjoyed. It is not sweet, so the aftertaste is refreshing.

Ginger black tea in a tea bag with milk

This is also a non-sweet ginger black tea that does not use sugar. It is made with powdered ginger produced in Japan. The brewing method is the same as for hojicha.

The aroma of ginger spreads softly and richly. The milk gently accompanies the astringency and richness of the black tea. The subtle spiciness of the ginger adds a nice accent. The sharp taste is mildly neutralized by the milk, creating a well-balanced cup.

It is a little different from the rich milk tea that requires a lot of time and effort to make, but the great appeal of this tea is that it can be enjoyed easily without the need to boil the tea leaves. It is sugar-free, so you can enjoy it as is when you want a refreshing drink, or add sugar or honey to sweeten it up a bit.
