Lotteria will sell a new product, "Hokkaido Aged Golden Potatoes" using Calbee Potato's "Inca Mezame" from September 8 to early November (except at some stores). The sale will end as soon as the product is gone.
Hokkaido Aged Golden Potato
Lotteria has been running a series of products and campaigns to commemorate the 50th anniversary of its founding, which have been very well received. As part of this campaign, a new French fry product, "Hokkaido Aged Golden Potatoes," will be available for a limited time only, just in time for the season of "autumn," when people's appetites have been whetted.
The "Hokkaido Aged Golden Potato" uses the "Inca Mezame" variety, which has a rich, sweet, chestnut-like flavor after it is harvested and aged for at least six months over winter. To ensure that the sweetness of the potatoes can be fully appreciated, they are not seasoned, but instead are quarter-cut and fried with the skin still on, taking advantage of the small size of the grains. The golden color of the fries is reminiscent of the autumn land of Hokkaido, and their bright appearance is also very appetizing.
