Kimuraya "An Butter

The 59th item in our series of articles introducing "secret masterpieces" is Kimuraya's "An Butter".

Kimuraya is known for its anpan, and anpan is known by Kimuraya. Kimuraya is so well known that its name is synonymous with anpan, and its bagged anpan can be found in supermarkets and convenience stores nationwide.

Kimuraya operates about 30 directly managed stores in the Tokyo metropolitan area. Introduced here is "An Butter," a popular product available only at the main store in Ginza. It is priced at 230 yen (tax not included).

The "An Butter" is being pushed in stores.

This is a limited edition item, only available here.

The dough is soft French bread dough. Two layers of whipped cream made with fresh raw milk butter from Hokkaido and Dainagon azuki bean grains from Tokachi are wrapped in the dough.

One bite and your mouth will be filled with the rich sweetness of the bean paste and melted butter cream. The rich sweetness of the red bean paste is mellowed by the fresh cream, creating a luxurious taste.

The deliciousness of the bread dough is also a point to be noted. The aroma of the wheat flavor comes out as you bite into it, and its moderate hardness enhances the melt-in-your-mouth texture of the filling.

Good balance between contents and dough

The dough tends to be just a "wrapper" for a filling filled with bean jam, but in this case, the dough continues to have a moderate presence until the very end, along with the bean jam and whipped topping.

No wonder it's so popular!

Kimuraya "An Butter Whip

A similar product, "An Butter Whip" (226 yen including tax) is also sold at stores other than the main Ginza store and online store. The An Butter Whip is slightly firmer than the Kimuraya An Butter Whip, but there is not much difference between the two. Try whichever is easier to get your hands on.
