Ministop "Fondant Chocolat"
Fondant Chocolat!

Ministop's autumn / winter limited sweets "Fondant Chocolat" was on sale, so I tried it. The top is a cool soft serve ice cream and the bottom is a warm chocolate cake.

The price is 343 yen (tax included, as of September) and the calories are 362 kcal. It is a popular dessert that will appear in this season from 2013, but this year we are increasing the amount of ganache that melts from the dough. Also, while maintaining high cacao, it seems that it is tailored to a more authentic taste by blending Belgian chocolate and fresh cream.

The soft serve ice cream on the top is firm like Ministop and has a hardness intermediate to that of ice cream. It is covered with cocoa powder and tastes like a Western confectionery.

A slight tiramisu feeling

Now, when I insert a spoon to eat the chocolate cake below, I hear a clicking sound. There was a thin disk in between, which seemed to block the cold soft serve ice cream from over-cooling the hot cake, and conversely the warm cake from over-melting the cold soft serve. The material of the disk is similar to soft serve ice cream cones and can be eaten.

When I scoop the cake again, it's really warm and the ganache inside is thick. The chocolate is so rich that it feels bittersweet, but it is a little soft and exquisite when tasted with cold soft.

It's fun to eat at eat-in, but elaborate sweets that you want to calm down at home and enjoy with coffee. However, if you carry it for too long, the real pleasure of eating cold and warm at the same time seems to diminish, and it is also a bit annoying dish.
