When I was patrolling KALDI, I found something called "Frozen and Eat Shiruko Bar". It is sold by Tanio Food Industry (Okayama Prefecture). There are three types of products in the series: "Azuki flavor" and "Matcha flavor", and "Amazake bar" instead of Shiruko.
There have been cold oshiruko and zenzai made by arranging ice cream, but it may be unusual to eat it as sherbet. I still can't give up summer even in September, so I bought it and tried it.
How to make is simple and clear. Just freeze the whole pouch in the freezer. I wanted to freeze it firmly, so I left it overnight.
It's frozen hard! That's why I will eat it.
First of all, from the royal road azuki beans. Azuki bean paste from Hokkaido is used.
The sweet taste of azuki beans! Although it is a sorbet, when you get the body temperature in your mouth, it feels like a "shiruko" with a soft and melty texture. It's okay to have plenty of azuki beans in it.
When it comes to that, what is worrisome is the difference from the "Azuki Bar". I tried to compare them.
Hardness is an overwhelming victory for Azuki Bar. If you make swords at the Azuki Bar and the Shiruko Bar and let them fight, you will probably be able to do the Shiruko Bar in an instant.
When I compared the tastes, I got the impression that the Shiruko bar tasted one octave higher than the Azuki bar. The azuki bar has a strong and solid taste of red bean paste, while the shiruko bar has a sweeter and lighter taste. The azuki bar was recommended by Azuki, and the Shiruko bar was recommended by Shiruko, and each tasted exactly as the product name . I'm sorry for the obvious impression.
Now, let's take a second look and enjoy the matcha flavor of Shiruko Bar, which uses matcha from Nishio, Aichi Prefecture!
Bitter and sharp taste! The aftertaste is also refreshing. I had imagined a sweeter taste like matcha latte, but it was cooler than I expected. There is also a scent of matcha that makes you feel astringent.
And finally, an amazake bar that uses 100% domestically produced rice jiuqu. Recently, "chilled amazake" that you drink in the summer is also popular, but it's true.
Yeah, mellow! The unique aroma of amazake and the sweetness of rice come along with the crispy and light texture of sorbet. It is easy to eat because it has a weak habit. When I'm thirsty, I seem to want it fiercely.
By the way, it is delicious even if you crush the frozen shiruko bar and put it in milk. The bar slowly dissolves in the milk, creating a mellow shiruko milk. The sweet and cold shiruko that flows coolly in the throat is the best.
Also, there seems to be a way to enjoy it by putting it in a glass without freezing it, adding ice and drinking it while cooling it. For a moment I thought, "It's the end of the story!", But if you think calmly, it's definitely delicious. I will try it when I buy it next time.
