Yakitori restaurant "Suehirogari" has opened in Nakameguro, Tokyo. Here, you can enjoy skewers grilled with Bincho charcoal by a craftsman who was active in a Michelin-acquired restaurant, and "Western" dishes prepared by a French chef at the same time.

The signature menu, skewers, is only available with a set of "recommended skewers" that vary from day to day (Tehachitori course starts at 2,300 yen). Skewers cannot be ordered separately. The reason is " I want to confidently provide the selected materials purchased on the day ." Hmm ... I don't hate that bullish attitude!

So, one day I decided to infiltrate Suehirogari on my way home from work.

The shop is about a minute's walk from Nakameguro Station on the Tokyu Toyoko Line and Hibiya Line. I can't find the word "Suehirogari" anywhere, so I'm about to pass by for a moment, but I used the sign that says "directly below" as a landmark. The reason for "directly below" is that the "positive" of 5 strokes and the "bottom" of 3 strokes are added to make 8 strokes, so "8 = 8 = Suehirogari". unique!

There are main counter seats and table seats in the back. Even if you come alone, you can chat with the craftsmen over the counter and make friends with the customers sitting next to you.

● I tried the recommended skewers

I ordered the recommended skewers right away. Then, the craftsman carefully grills the skewers in front of you and serves them one by one like a course meal. The lineup for this day was Tsukune, white liver, kawa, fillet with skin, male and female chicken wings, and shiitake mushrooms.

Outside, fragrant and crisp, and piping hot Puripuri skinned with fillets Some, such as chicken wings containing the eggs of quail of Hokkuhoku (female), none of this is also How can movingly was delicious ... What to say of this victory But "white lever" .

I wasn't very good at the feeling that the liver was entwined with the tongue, but this white liver is exquisitely light. The moment I ate it, my impression was " Is this tiramisu? " Although it is rich, it does not remain on the tongue, and it disappears quickly. The next bite won't stop!

● French menu is also available

On the menu table of Suehirogari, there are a lot of katakana dishes that are not like yakitori restaurants. I decided to try "Terrine, a famous yakitori restaurant" (780 yen) and "Small omelet rice and motsuni" (590 yen).

The yakitori restaurant terrine is made by combining various parts of chicken into a terrine. It is a luxurious menu where you can enjoy breast meat, hearts, liver, gizzards, bonjiri, kumquat (egg in the stomach), cartilage, and thigh meat in one dish. Fresh onions from Awaji Island and mustard are served.

To describe the taste in one word, it is exactly " the deliciousness of the condensed flavor of one chicken ." The rapidly changing taste and texture are magical! Light taste, rich taste, saltiness, sweetness ... Various tastes roll on the tongue, crispy, stuffy, crispy, crunchy, and various textures are mixed together in the mouth Inside is a frenzy! This is the first menu that makes eating so much fun!

On the other hand, the small omelet rice and motsuni simmered in a bowl size omelet rice with fluffy soft-boiled egg on ketchup price and motsuni simmered in miso and demiglace sauce are served separately. Sprinkle the simmered rice with your favorite omelet rice and have it with a spoon.

A plump ketchup rice with melted eggs and rich motsuni. A trio of the spiciness of miso, the acidity of demiglace, and the mellow sweetness of eggs. At this moment, my Last Supper has decided on this ...!

● "Soy sauce dumplings" for 〆

The stomach is filled with a wonderful collaboration between Japanese and Western, and at the end I want to finish with sweets. And, one of the recommended shops is "soy sauce dumpling", so today's dessert is decided!

Soy sauce dumplings baked on the same roasting table as yakitori. When you throw it in your mouth, it feels like a marshmallow! The burnt aroma of soy sauce spreads, and the subtle sweetness of the dumplings follows after the saltiness. Even though it is chewy, it bites quickly and does not cling to your teeth, so it is easy to eat!

By the way, the staff who accompanied him said, "I should have been bad at dumplings, but this is delicious enough to finish eating in an instant." Without a joke, I really thought that I could eat as much as I wanted. The price is 960 yen for 8 bottles (for souvenirs), and it comes with the course as the final sweetness.

The volume of each item is just right, and I was impressed by the fact that the price was reasonable even though I could enjoy the authentic taste, Suehirogari. With friends, colleagues, lovers, and sometimes even alone. A fun night in Nakameguro is about to begin here.

The store is located at 3-6-4 Kamimeguro, Meguro-ku, Tokyo. Business hours are from 17:00 to 24:00.
