Cat cafe, owl cafe, bird cafe ... Cafes where you can interact with animals are popular. Under such circumstances, the "snake cafe" has recently caught the hearts of young women. It is said that it is popular with repeaters.

Actually, the author who kept wanting to keep a snake (or iguana). I couldn't control my excitement and went to the snake cafe!


The official name of the snake cafe is "Cafe & Snake Tokyo Snake Center". It is open for a limited time in Harajuku, Tokyo. It has been held only on weekends since November last year, and it is a reservation system probably because it became so popular. Of course, the author is also reserved. I will go to the store according to the time.

The store is located near the Takeshita exit signal, where Takeshita-dori and Meiji-dori meet. The entrance is next to the crepe shop, which is crowded with many tourists. If you go up the narrow stairs to the 5th floor, you should be at your destination, but you will hit a black door that says "SOCIAL LOUNGE AJITO". Oh, it doesn't say Snake Cafe ...




When I gently opened the door, a subtropical heat burst out. The inside is crowded with many young women. And beyond their line of sight is a snake . It seems that it fits in this room. When you enter the store, the staff will first confirm your reservation and explain the system. Admission is 1,000 yen per person (with one drink), and there is a time limit (60 to 110 minutes depending on the time of visit). You can order cute sweets and additional drinks for an additional fee.

Then, if you choose your favorite child from the beautiful attendants (= snakes) lined up near the entrance, you will be taken to your seat. You can love snakes to your heart's content for the full time (don't take them out of the gauge!). In addition, number cards will be given in the order of reception. It seems that this is the order of photography and hugging time.





Now, it's my turn to be guided. "Corn Snake Aneristic" came to me. A beautiful woman with a dark brown pattern clearly on her gray body. I'm staring at me with my round black eyes (because of my mind). It seems that there is no particular name, so I named it Ume-chan without permission. How cute Ume-chan is ... !!


I was given a menu at the same time as I was guided to my seat, but no one was looking at the menu. As with the author, I was struck by Ume-chan in front of me! I remembered it for the first time when the staff came to pick up the order, so I hurriedly ordered cafe au lait and a sweets plate (800 yen).


Immediately look at Ume-chan. I've been watching it moving whimsically, looking up at me, stretching to the left, crawling to the right, stretching upwards, and sometimes wrapping around the corners. You won't get bored even if you continue. Most of the customers are taking pictures, but some of the regulars are quietly sketching.



An untangled attitude by calling out to "turn over here". That's why the joy when the eyes meet is exceptional! You will be pierced through your heart. No matter how many hearts you have ...


While doing so, cafe au lait and sweets plates were brought in. The lineup for this day is strawberry sorbet, roll cake, pound cake, and a snake-shaped "snake biscuit" that is recommended. If it's an ordinary cafe, you can start working on it right away, but this is a snake cafe. Ume-chan has moved away a little, so the sweets even seemed to get in the way. No, it was delicious!


While tasting, I finished eating quickly (sorry!), And when I was staring at Ume-chan, the staff said. The turn of the touch time (there is a bad word ...) has come. I will triumphantly head to the sofa.

The one I'm holding is "Snow San Diego Gopher Snake Lavender", a child who looks purplish with a lemon-colored body and light. I feel a noble atmosphere. Actually, this is the first time I actually have a snake. I will receive it with excitement.


…hot. The snake is warm. Of course, it doesn't have fluffy hair like cats and birds, but it's not slimy, and it conveys the warmth.


I also had another child hug me. "Corn Snake Florescent Orange" is a girl with an impressive orange pattern like polka dots and bright red eyes. It's much more active than Lavender. While sticking out your tongue, it will wrap around your arm. Speaking of the comfort of this tightening! This is what makes you want to take it home.



By the way, the child you can hold is basically decided. It is dangerous to chew, so it seems that he makes a judgment by looking at his physical condition and mood from among the children with a quiet personality. There is a big child who seems to be able to wrap it around his neck, but he seems to be in a good mood on that day, so he was an answering machine in the gauge. I want to hug you next time.


It's time to say goodbye to Ume-chan. If you stare at each other for just an hour, you will become attached to them. I couldn't help but want to take it home, but I can't keep it in my hateful apartment. Say goodbye to tears. I don't know if it's Ume-chan, but I'll buy a snakeskin amulet as a souvenir and go home.
