I tried Lawson's limited chiffon cake "Uchi Cafe x Godiva Caramel Banana Chiffon". It was a bitter and chocolate-scented dish.
A collaboration product between Lawson's "Uchi Cafe" brand and chocolate maker "Godiva". The price is 350 yen (tax included) and the calories are 164 kcal.
A chocolate coating is applied on the soft and moist sponge cake dough. The dough itself has a strong chocolate taste, so the bittersweet sweetness is transmitted to the tongue no matter where you bite.
The topping has a chocolate plate with the Uchicafe and Godiva logos on it. Amber caramel sauce comes out when this is removed. It's kind of like an egg in a bird's nest.
When I put the knife in, it was a white paste just below the caramel sauce. This is a banana filling, which has a much richer fruit aroma than raw bananas.
Putting it all together, the caramel doesn't insist so much and the banana flavor is moderate. After all the taste of bitter chocolate is overwhelming. It was a very sweet but "not sweet" candy that convinced me that it could only bear the name of Godiva. Suitable for people who love chocolate.
