It's hard to line up in a line at a popular store that is often featured on TV and magazines, so I'm not aware of this ...! That's why I went there now! I've lined up !!
Rainbow Pancake is located on the 2nd floor of the building ares garden omotesando, which is a 5-minute walk from Meiji Jingu Station. It's a weekday, so if you go up high and head to the store around 13:30, you'll see a long line that you can instantly see even from a distance. About 20 young people are lining up in a row. I've done it ... I was lined up before the opening ...
I started lining up at 13:40 and finally entered the store at 14:45. Even though it was a weekday, it was a waiting time of 65 minutes! There seems to be some waves depending on the day, but it seems better to be prepared for some waiting time, especially on weekends.
I was given the menu during the waiting time and had already placed the order, so it's easy to carry things after I get to my seat. This time, I chose the pancake "Seasonal Fruits" (1,350 yen) using seasonal fruits. By the way, drinks are included free of charge at lunch time (11:00 to 16:00).
About 10 minutes to wait, the pancakes finally arrived! Two pancakes with a diameter of about 10 cm and a thickness of about 2 cm are stacked, and plenty of cream is on top. In addition, it is topped with plenty of cut oranges, kiwis, grapefruits, bananas, and apples!
The fluffy, soft and souffle-like pancakes give the impression that the richness and saltiness of the eggs are more firmly felt than the sweetness. It has a unique taste! The outside is baked until it is browned, and the inside is moist and melts. I was fascinated by the happy texture that did not betray the appearance. And the cream is amazingly fluffy! It has a light taste like cotton candy.
In addition, the moderate acidity of the fruit and the juicy juice give a refreshing change to the taste of pancake + cream, which may become a monotonous taste by itself.
The cream and pancakes are light, so I was able to finish the meal with plenty of time, except that I was super hungry for an hour. You may come to the store with your friends, order several types and share them!
Rainbow is said to be a "symbol of happiness" in Hawaii. Here are pancakes that naturally make us smile, like a beautiful rainbow in the Hawaiian sky. It's been three years since it opened in 2011, but I understand why there are still lines. This is definitely worth the line!
However, depending on the day, a long-term battle is expected, so be sure to take measures against heat stroke such as parasols and water, especially when lining up in midsummer.
