"Suica's Penguin Season Cake" is a model of the character "Suica's Penguin" of the transportation IC card "Suica" issued by JR East. From June 1st, the summer flavor "Acai & Fruit Mix" will be on sale.


This cake was released in 2011 at Hotel Metropolitan (Ikebukuro, Tokyo) to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Suica. A hall with a diameter of 15 cm (3,600 yen including tax / reservation required) and a tart size with a diameter of 7 cm (520 yen per day / limited to 50 pieces per day) are available.

The flavor that appears this time is based on the popular Hawaiian food "Acai bowl". It was devised as part of the buffet project "Love Hawaii" that will be held from July to August at the hotel's dining "Cross Dine".

In the center is an acai juice jelly containing fruits such as blueberries. It is wrapped in passion fruit and white chocolate mousse. The base is made from coconut dacquoise and granola. Finally, the whole is coated with Glasage Chocolat to make it look like a Suica penguin. You can enjoy a fruity tropical taste.

The sale period is from June to August. The tart size is a popular item, so it may be sold out.
