Lined up on the shelves were the side dish breads "Okonomiyaki bread" and "Takoyaki-style bread" from the Yakisoba bread series (?), "Candy apple queen Aman" with its pink visuals, and even salty ones. I don't know if it's sweet, such as "Yakisoba-style bread".
Isn't this exactly the stall lineup for fairs? I wasn't invited to the festival by anyone, so I thought it was a guess ... I was paying at the cash register. I couldn't go against such a desperate desire to at least enjoy the festive mood.
When you line up the breads, the festive mood is getting higher and higher. So, from here, I would like to send you a review of each taste, along with the delusion that everyone is coming to the festival!
■ Salty lineup
● Okonomiyaki bread 149 yen (tax included, same below)
A side dish bread that is made into a "okonomiyaki style" by topping yakisoba, seasoned cabbage, and sauce on a chewy dough. It looks like Hiroshima because it contains yakisoba.
From the moment you open the package, the nice scent of dried bonito will be invited. When I cut it, there was a lot of yakisoba inside! This seems to be delicious.
When you chew, the bonito scent and umami spread throughout your mouth, and immediately after that, the taste of the rich sauce follows. The spiciness of red pickled ginger is effective as an accent.
The chewy dough is more like okonomiyaki than bread, or rather crepe. The dough is also flavored, and the yakisoba sauce is also strong, so the overall taste is quite strong. The food stalls that are poured with beer on a hot night must have such a strong taste!
● American dog-style wiener donuts 134 yen
An "American dog-style" elongated bread made by seasoning wieners with ketchup and mustard, wrapping them in donut dough, and fried. The wieners have arrived properly from end to end (rather, one is slightly squeezed).
When I grab it, the dough is soft on the palate and chewy. It has a slight sweetness like fried bread. The sausage's "flesh" makes it perfect for eating. You can enjoy the delicious taste of Frankfurt, which is sold at food stalls.
● Fluffy takoyaki-style bread 139 yen
A side dish bread made by wrapping a "takoyaki filling" with red pickled ginger in a soft dough and baking it in the image of a stall "takoyaki". The colon and round shape, the darkly colored skin, the green laver sprinkled on the top, etc., look like "takoyaki".
The dough on the surface is thin and fluffy like a butter roll! When you bite into it, the filling of takoyaki will overflow from the inside. The red pickled ginger also works well, and the taste is very close to the real thing. It's still delicious when eaten after warming!
■ Sweet lineup
● Candy apple Kouign-amann 139 yen
A sweet bread made by wrapping an apple filling in dough, adding sugar margarine to the surface, and baking it red and crispy. It is a Kouign-amann arranged in an "apple candy apple style".
The soft and gentle texture of the dough is accented by the sugar on the surface with a crispy texture. Sweet and rich in butter. The filling is packed with diced apples.
The bright red visual is certainly like an apple candy, but when you try it, it may be more like an apple pie or an apple Danish pastry. The taste and texture are gentle, so it seems to be loved by a wide range of people from adults to children. Like a candy apple at a festival.
● Banana chocolate 129 yen
"Banana-zukushi" sweet bread made by sandwiching banana-flavored dice chocolate with banana-flavored dough and biscuit dough and baking it. I bought it because I thought it was like the "chocolate banana" sold at fairs. Dice chocolate is contained in the rugged and uneven areas on the top.
Banana chocolate that you can enjoy four textures in one bite: crispy (biscuit dough), shito (dice chocolate), fluffy (bread dough), and chewy (bread dough). The bread dough and chocolate are all banana-flavored, so the mouth is a banana festival. It was a bread that enjoys bananas from top to bottom, rather than chocolate bananas on a fair day with chocolate on bananas.
By the way, it is recommended to warm this bread with a toaster before eating it. The banana scent becomes even richer, and you can enjoy the deliciousness of chocolate that melts in your mouth the moment you bite it!
● Strawberry condensed milk melon bread 134 yen
"Strawberry condensed milk" -flavored melon bread, probably inspired by "strawberry-flavored shaved ice." Wrapped with condensed milk cream and strawberry jam, topped with biscuit dough and sardines and baked. It seems that the strawberry-flavored filling is topped on the top like strawberry syrup on shaved ice.
The fabric that holds plenty of air is fluffy. Each time you chew, the scent of butter goes through your mouth and nose. The crunchy texture of the peacock creates a shaved ice-like texture. The amount of condensed milk cream and strawberry jam is exquisite, and even if you eat it with sweet melon bread dough, it will not be tedious.
It's definitely a shaved ice-like bread, but if you warm it up a little, the flavor of butter kneaded into the dough and the fruity aroma of strawberries will increase, and you can eat it even more deliciously.
■ Sweet and salty coexist
● It's like grilled corn-style bread 139 yen
Wrapped soy sauce-flavored corn mayo in bread dough, topped with "corn-style melon skin" and baked, it's like grilled corn-style bread (excellent naming sense!). If you bite into it without knowing whether it's salty or sweet ...
Yeah, I don't know even if I try it ☆ But what is it, exquisitely horse!
The moist corn-like melon crust is fragrant and sweet like caramel, and the bread dough makes you think "Is this sweet bread?" For a moment, while the filling with plenty of corn grains inside makes the soy sauce salty and mayonnaise. You can feel the soy sauce. In other words, the correct answer is " sweet on the outside and salty on the inside ."
If you warm it with a toaster for 2 to 3 minutes and then eat it, the rich flavor of mayo will be restored and the taste will be doubled. Be careful not to burn it! (But maybe it's a little burnt but it looks like baked corn ...?)
By the way, the one I ate the most this time was the fluffy takoyaki-style bread . The appearance, taste, and texture of the real takoyaki were beautifully reproduced and it was very delicious!
So, the NewDays bread festival, no, festival breads, where you can enjoy the "festive mood" with your taste. If you see it, please try it before the end of summer!
