We have less than a week left until Valentine's Day. Inspired by the sweet scent that overflows throughout the city, the En-eating editorial department heads to Nishi-Azabu, Tokyo. I ate a slightly unusual chocolate fondue. The shop offered is One Garden. Kamameshi and hot pot dishes are famous Japanese restaurants. e? Chocolate fondue at a Japanese restaurant !? Moreover, I dip the shrimp frit.

The "salt lemon chocolate fondue" (3,500 yen including tax) offered at One Garden is a menu that combines salt lemon and chocolate, which became a hot topic last summer. If you look at the pot with something like a big disk, you can see chocolate in the middle and various ingredients on the disk. Gorgeous like a palette!

It's colorful and gorgeous ...

However, if you look closely, there are many strange things. First of all, what is floating on the chocolate is a lemon slice. That's right, it's a "salt lemon chocolate fondue".

And if you look at the disk, in addition to fresh fruits such as strawberries, oranges and kiwis, you can see roasted apples, mozzarella cheese, truffles, lotus roots and shrimp frit. In addition, there are a lot of wormwood fu, sweet and spicy ginger, and a lot of side dishes that don't seem to go well with chocolate. Do you eat this with chocolate ...?

What should I eat ... I had a big problem while I was wondering. The disk part of the pot also warms up, so the cheese is melting! This is Mazui and hurriedly dip cheese. It seems that it is better to eat from the one that seems to be useless when it is cooked, so after the cheese, I plucked the fresh fruit.

This chocolate is quite delicious. It's not too smooth, not too hard, not too sweet, not too bitter, and it's just the right salt plum. When I scooped up and ate only chocolate because it was so delicious, something like jelly came out from inside. When I try it, it smells like sesame. It's called "sesame tofu" that is included as a secret ingredient. It is an ingredient like a Japanese restaurant.

After dipping the fruits and having fun, the mysterious "side dishes" finally come into play.

First of all, I decided to eat from the shrimp frit. Surprisingly, sweet chocolate and a little salty shrimp go well together! What's more, you can wear more chocolate than fruits with a lot of water. Similarly, the wormwood fu also feels like it was entwined with plenty of chocolate.

And my (writer's) recommendation is lotus root. The crispy texture not found in other ingredients is fresh. I feel like I can feel a faint citrus flavor. When I asked the shop staff, they said that they cooked lotus root in orange, inspired by the Japanese cooking method of "cooking sweet potatoes with orange juice." We also recommend roasted apples. Apples, which are sweetened by baking, go well with chocolate. The combination of raw apples and chocolate is a little hard to imagine, but it seems to go well with baking.

By the way, the lemon floating on the chocolate should be eaten with chocolate like other ingredients. It feels sweeter than salty, but that's why you can enjoy the sweet taste. Actually, it seems that sake (and Daiginjo!) Is used for this lemon and chocolate. The place where Japanese sake is used may be a device unique to Japanese restaurants.

If you want to spend a sweet time, why not try a "strange" chocolate fondue with champagne. It is offered at One Garden Nishiazabu store and Shibuya Sakuragaoka store only for dinner time (from 18:00).

By the way, if you put too much force on the disk when you stab the fork, the pot will turn over, so be careful. Also, thin ingredients such as lotus root and truffles are recommended because chopsticks are easier to eat than forks. Chocolate fondue, which is eaten with chopsticks, can also be said to be "Japanese restaurant-like".
