One day, when I was surfing the internet looking for "local gourmet", I got information that the local gourmet "marlin" using "marlin" is booming in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture. I grew up in Chiba prefecture, so I haven't seen fish since I was little, so I went to eat!


This time, I visited " Onahama Gastronomy Hotel " in Onahama Port in Iwaki City. Although it is called a hotel, it is not an accommodation facility, but a facility that sells and provides delicious Iwaki food.



"Jumbo Marlin Menchi" (300 yen plus tax) is sold at the To go shop "Nashiro Kajiki-ya" in the facility. It is said that the menu won the national grand prix at the "Minato Oasis 2nd Sea Class Gourmet in Onahama" held in 2012.


Jumbo swordfish is a jumbo size that looks like a child's face! The marlin in a crispy garment is thick and very juicy. It has firm elasticity and chewy texture like chicken breast, but it is soft enough to loosen the fibers.



You can sprinkle the sauce on it if you like, but since the tuna is full of flavor, you can enjoy it as it is without sprinkling the sauce.


The jumbo swordfish is big, so it's voluminous enough to be shared by two people. If you get tired of walking around Onahama, it seems good to take a break and fill your stomach.

By the way, I thought it would be absolutely delicious if I put it on rice, but it was already there! At "Taro Chaya" in the same facility, "Katsudon with swordfish sauce" (980 yen) is on sale. A considerable volume is expected, so if you are confident in the size of your stomach, please do.
