Survey results of "popular rice balls" at convenience stores of the Onigiri Association
What is the most popular convenience store rice ball?

June 18th is "Onigiri Day". The Onigiri Association has announced the results of a survey of "popular rice balls" at convenience stores.

The four convenience stores surveyed were 7-ELEVEN, FamilyMart, Lawson, and Ministop. Here is the most popular rice ball of each company!

7-ELEVEN: Plenty of ingredients! Tuna Mayonnaise Family Mart: Series-wound Yakishake Lawson: Hand-wound Sea Chicken Mayonnaise Ministop: Tuna Mayonnaise

It can be said that this is almost Tuna Mayo's victory. Tuna Mayo is popular and strong!

Next, please see the top 3 of each convenience store.

● 7-ELEVEN
1st place: Plenty of ingredients! Tuna mayonnaise
2nd place: Hand-rolled rice ball Red salmon
3rd place: Spicy cod roe two-stage aging tailoring

● Family Mart
1st place: Series-wound salmon
2nd place: Hand-rolled sea chicken mayonnaise
3rd place: Series mentaiko mayonnaise

● Lawson
1st place: Hand-rolled sea chicken mayonnaise
2nd place: Niigata Koshihikari Grilled salmon Harami
3rd place: Hand-rolled Hidaka kelp

● Ministop
1st place: Tuna Mayonnaise
2nd place: Red salmon
3rd place: Kokumi chicken soy sauce mayonnaise

At all convenience stores, Tuna Mayo and salmon are in the top three. Besides, relatively standard ingredients such as mentaiko and kelp seem to be popular. Maybe there are many people who don't have much adventure at convenience stores and buy rice balls of their favorite ingredients that they have already decided on.

However, there seems to be a "trend" at each convenience store.

At Lawson, mixed rice balls made from rice cakes are favored by women, and at Ministop, rice balls with rice cakes and 16-grain rice balls with rice cakes are gaining popularity. Is it a manifestation of "health consciousness" in the world?

When I consciously look at the rice ball shelves at convenience stores, there are actually quite a few unusual types of rice balls such as "bacon", "oil rice balls", and "fried chicken". Occasionally, you may try a taste that is out of the standard!
