"Tanuki and Kitsune Cafe", a collaboration between "Tanuki and Kitsune" drawn by popular illustrator Atamoto and "BOMA TOKYO" in Shibuya, Tokyo, opened for a limited time on April 26th. You can enjoy the original food menu that can only be eaten here and the inside of the store with "raccoon dogs and foxes" specifications.


"Tanuki and Kitsune" is an illustration work published on the Internet by Mr. Atamoto. A little natural raccoon dog and a little messy fox's heartwarming everyday life are drawn with a cute touch. Illustrations posted on Twitter are retweeted in units of tens of thousands or thousands every time, and it is a hot topic. The collaboration cafe to be held this time will commemorate the release of the second comic, which was released in November 2016.

The author is also a big fan of "Tanukitsu". I am always healed by two raccoon dogs, a raccoon dog and a tsundere fox. My favorite "raccoon dog and fox" cafe ... this is the only way to go! So, this time, I went to "Raccoon and Fox Cafe" held in Tokyo and actually tried the menu!

■ Cute original menu

At "Raccoon and Fox Cafe", you can enjoy a cute food menu and dessert with the image of two animals. The menu is all super cute, such as the "hot spring green curry" that expresses how raccoon dogs are in the hot springs, and the "surprised raccoon dog loco moco plate" where raccoon dogs are surprised by foxes. I was worried and chose two, "3-frame sandwich and chopped salad" and "raccoon dog pancake".

◆ 3-frame sandwich and chopped salad

"3-frame sandwich and chopped salad" is a sandwich with a 3-frame cartoon printed on the bread. A set with minestrone and chopped salad.


The contents of the sandwich are roast beef, shrimp and avocado, and egg omelet in order from the top. On the surface of the bread, a three-frame illustration is printed in which a raccoon dog chasing butterflies with his eyes covers the net that the fox had from his head.


The roast beef is accented with the sweetness of sliced onions and tomatoes, and combines with the saltiness of the meat for a refreshing finish. Shrimp and avocado are sandwiches with soft avocado and plump shrimp, and the sandwiched cabbage is also crispy. Egg omelette is a simple and easy-to-eat sandwich with fluffy baked omelette and large cut tomatoes covered with mayonnaise.


The set minestrone is a lot of soup. You can feel the strong taste of tomatoes. Chopped salad is a salad that uses several kinds of vegetables and chicken. It is a colorful shade with broccoli and paprika.

"Raccoon dog pancake" is a pancake with two cute faces printed on it. Two of each are stacked. The raccoon dog sandwiches fruit and vanilla ice cream in between, and the fox does not dare to sandwich anything, but competes with the taste of the fox itself.

April 27th postscript : It seems that the fox pancake I ate on that day had become plain due to some mistake. Originally, it seems that custard cream and honey are sandwiched.


Attached are maple syrup in a container and whipped cream. On top of the whipped cream, there is a fork-like decoration. The texture of the "fork" was very similar to a thin baby rice cracker.


The raccoon dog pancakes are moist and sweet with melted vanilla ice cream soaking in the dough, and the balance with the acidity of the fruit is exquisite. For those who just like sweetness, we recommend adding plenty of whipped cream.


I tried to eat fox pancakes simply with maple syrup. It may not have been the original taste, but the dough was so chewy that it was still satisfying to eat.


I chose these two items this time, but the other menus look cute and delicious! I just want to ask for everything.
