Andesu MATOBA
Is Anpan a mashed bean paste? Are you a red bean paste?

Today April 4th is "Anpan Day". It is said that it was established on the same day in 1875 after the Anpan of Ginza Kimuraya was presented to Emperor Meiji.

However, Kimuraya is not the only place where Anpan is delicious! So, this time, I would like to introduce the Anpan shop "Andesu MATOBA" in Asakusa, Tokyo!

Anpan shop that has been open for about 35 years, started by a long-established anko shop.

What is amazing is the variety of Anpan! There are about 20 types of anpan, such as Koshi Anpan, Ogura Anpan, Black Sesame Anpan, Zunda Anpan, Grilled Anpan, and so on.

In addition to anpan, various types of bread such as croissants, cream buns, and side dish bread are sold, but the majority of the display shelves are still anpan.

◆ The most popular is after all ...

The most popular restaurant is "Koshianpan" (160 yen, tax included, same below). There is plenty of red bean paste made from 100% Hokkaido azuki beans.

Soft and fluffy bread and moist and smooth red bean paste. The royal road anpan with salted salty cherry blossoms as an accent.

◆ Anpan

Variants include "Melon Anpan", "French Anpan", and "Pumpkin Anpan" (160 yen each).

Melon Anpan is a bread with a refreshing lemon flavor and a refreshing dough stuffed with homemade warbler bean paste. It seems to be very popular among the staff of the shop.

Uguisu-an is delicious because it has a smooth but fluffy bean paste. With a little toast, the outside is crispy and the inside is moist and melty.

French anpan is made by mixing butter with red bean paste, wrapping it in French bread dough, and baking it. It is also recommended to toast this quickly.

The crispy dough is chewy enough to chew. The taste of butter and the saltiness are mixed with the sweetness of red bean paste, and the rich richness melts and spreads in the mouth.

Pumpkin Anpan is made by wrapping pumpkin bean paste using sweet pumpkin from Hokkaido in a soft dough and baking it. The shape that imitates a pumpkin is cute as a colon!

The pumpkin melts slowly on the tongue, spreading the sweetness of the pumpkin. The slightly sweet dough has a gentle and relaxing taste ... It seems to be loved by both children and adults.

◆ Seasonal Anpan

In addition, the spring limited-time anpan "Sakura Daifuku Anpan" (180 yen) is now on sale. Homemade sakura bean paste with fertilizer, wrapped in bread dough, and finished in a "Daifuku style".

When you bite into the pink spring bread, you will see a smooth cherry blossom bean paste and a chewy fertilizer. Sakuramochi is studded with cherry leaves, and the scent of cherry blossoms and the faint saltiness make it look like you are eating sakuramochi!

The store is located 3-3-2 Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo. Business hours are from 8:00 to 18:00. Closed on Sundays and holidays.

In addition, Andesu Matoba has a store in Shinkoiwa, and although it uses the same bean paste, it seems that the owner is different, and it is said that products different from the Asakusa store are being developed. Check it out if you are near!
