Here are some of the new sweets from convenience stores released this week (March 6-10, 2017) that the editorial department actually ate and were particularly delicious!
● FamilyMart "Plenty of cream chocolate tart" (298 yen, tax included, same below)
A cake filled with fluffy cream on a tart dough that is said to have been made with a new recipe. It has plenty of volume and the taste is authentic because it uses Belgian chocolate. … Hasn't FamilyMart's sweets become even more delicious since it was integrated with Circle K Sunkus?
Chocolate-flavored cake dough is layered on butter-scented tart dough, and plenty of chocolate whipped with Belgian chocolate and Hokkaido fresh cream is squeezed. Chocolate sauce is the topping. The chocolate whipped cream contains vanilla mousse and chocolate sauce.
I'm happy that the crispy tart dough, the chocolate sauce that overflows from the toro, and the whipped chocolate whipped cream melt together! The chocolate whipped cream is sweet, the vanilla mousse is milky and rich, and the chocolate sauce is slightly bitter. The taste is well balanced.
● FamilyMart "Strawberry Rare Cheese Tart with Plenty of Cream" (298 yen)
Different flavors of chocolate tart. It is a rare cheese tart using strawberries. The cream was generally refreshing, so the taste of the tart was more pronounced than the chocolate.
Cake dough and strawberry mousse are layered on tart dough, and strawberry rare cheese cream and whipped cream are squeezed out. Bright green pistachio topping.
The crispy tart is moisturized and spreads the rich buttery scent. Various textures of strawberry mousse, melting strawberry rare cheese cream, and strawberry sauce that flows out are visited one after another. The sourness of cheese and strawberries is refreshing!
● 7-ELEVEN "Fluffy Uji Matcha Bracken (with black honey)" (120 yen)
This product was a hot topic on Twitter even before its release, and had high expectations. I was impressed by the authentic taste of matcha than I had imagined!
Warabimochi wrapped in matcha whipped cream and black honey sauce is sprinkled with matcha.
As the product name suggests, the cream inside is "fluffy" and the warabimochi is "melty". Warabimochi, which is elastic and fluffy, loses its shape when chewed. The melty matcha cream has a strong bitterness of tea. When combined with rich black honey in the mouth, the balance of sweetness is just right.
● Lawson "Japanese-style whipped cream with red bean paste" (160 yen)
The last item I would like to introduce is Matcha Sweets! A Japanese-Western eclectic dessert that goes well with coffee and tea.
A pie shoe filled with matcha whipped cream and red bean paste in a pie crust. Sprinkled with powdered sugar. Uji matcha from the main store of Riichi Tsuji in Kyoto is used for the matcha whipped cream, and Yumemurasaki azuki beans from Hokkaido are used for the bean paste.
The puff pastry folded in multiple layers has a crispy and moist texture. When you bite into it, the matcha whipped cream will overflow. The scent of Uji matcha is very rich!
It has a lot of Hokuhoku grain sauce, and it looks like you're eating Japanese sweets even though it's a pie. It looks pretty voluminous, but the sweetness doesn't leave behind and it's crispy and light, so you can eat it all!
Did you find any sweets you were interested in? Since last week and this week, the number of sweets made with cherry blossoms and matcha has increased, and I feel the arrival of spring. Stay tuned for next week's review!
