A special lighting with the theme of "Japanese food" will be lit on the Tokyo Sky Tree for a limited time from November 20th to 24th. It will be held in conjunction with "Japanese Food Day" advocated by the Japanese Culture National Assembly. With the cooperation of Kikkoman, this year we plan to light up designs inspired by "chirashizushi" and "hand-rolled sushi."

Chirashizushi is made by laying brocade eggs on top of vinegared rice, arranging colorful ingredients such as tuna, salmon, and avocado cut into blocks, and finally topped with salmon roe to create the image of chirashizushi. How much is expressed by turning on the red intersection lighting. Also, in the off-light scene, the purple intersection lighting, which is the image of soy sauce, comes down from above.

On the other hand, hand-rolled sushi is a lighting that expresses how hand-rolled sushi is rolled up with ingredients such as vinegared rice, tuna, omelet, and cucumber on seaweed. In the scene where the lights are turned off, the purple intersection lighting, which is the image of soy sauce, shines down from above.

Lighting time is from 16:30 to 22:00. Every 30 minutes, lighting that dynamically expresses how hand-rolled sushi is made is carried out for about 2 minutes, and the lighting of chirashizushi is lit at other times.
