Do you know what day September 12th is today? In fact, it's "Space Day " after Mamoru Mohri's first Japanese trip to space on the Space Shuttle (September 12, 1992)!

In honor of such a space day, the museum cafe "THE SUN" on the 52nd floor of Roppongi Hills Mori Tower will offer a menu in collaboration with the "Space and Art Exhibition" currently being held.


The En-eating editorial department was allowed to sample the space menu ahead of time, and I was fascinated by the beauty and deliciousness full of romance! We will tell you the whole picture, so space fans should not miss it!

◆ Black hole kakiage bowl

A jet-black bowl menu that seems to suck everything like a black hole. The price is 1,280 yen (tax included, same below). The sale period is until January 9, 2017.


Kakiage bowl with onions, carrots and seafood (soft shell shrimp, shrimp, squid, asari) mixed with black rice cooked with bamboo charcoal and colored with bamboo charcoal. Topped with quail eggs, gold leaf and silver sugar, it represents the sun and the stars of the universe.


It's black for a moment, but when you try it, the kakiage is crispy and fluffy, and it has a nice texture and is insanely delicious! It goes well with the sweet and spicy sauce. The development chef seems to be proud of his work.


By the way, this is a menu inspired by the "Utsuro-bune" exhibited at the exhibition. "Utsuro-bune" is a "boat with a beautiful woman, much like a UFO," which is said to have been washed ashore on the coast of Ibaraki prefecture in the late Edo period. If you are a space fan or a UFO fan, you probably know it.

◆ Planet and space-time parfait

A fantastic parfait with the image of outer space. Supplied in tall glass. The price is 900 yen. The sale period is until October 31st.


Two kinds of ice cream (tiramisu ice cream and yuzu sorbet) are placed on top of soda-flavored jelly, blueberry sauce, and pannacotta, and topped with oranges, chocolate chips, and silver sugar. The overflowing ice cream represents the planet, and the silver sugar represents the galaxy.


Deep blue, white, purple ... and silver sugar glitters in layers, just like the Milky Way. It's so beautiful that I forget to eat it and stare at it for a while.


The soda jelly, blueberry sauce, and yuzu sorbet are refreshing, so the overall taste is not too sweet and has a refreshing aftertaste. You can enjoy it as a dessert after a meal. The deeper I ate, the deeper the universe was.

◆ Planet and space-time sweets plate

A sweets plate that expresses "outer space seen from the space station". The price is 1,200 yen. It will be offered from November 1st to January 9th, 2017, replacing the planetary and space-time parfaits.


On a black plate like a jet-black universe, cassis mousse and macaroons with the image of a planet, pistachio ice cream, baked chocolate like a meteorite, and cheesecake like a shooting star are assorted. It's like looking at a painting.


Colorful macaroons are offered in one of four flavors (cassis, strawberry, cherry and framboise). Look forward to which taste you get!


The shooting star (cheesecake) that melts softly and spreads sourness and richness, the blue planet (cassis mousse) that melts lightly and softly, and the crisp and fragrant meteorite (chocolate) have a high level of taste as well as the artistry of appearance! It's too beautiful to eat, but it makes me happier, so please try it before it melts.
