Did you know that there is a fruit paradise that fruit lovers should visit at least once, just outside the Yaesu North Exit of JR Tokyo Station and around to the left?

If you like strawberries this time of year, you must go there!

Fruit Parlor Kajitsuen Tokyo Branch offers sweets and juices made from seasonal fruits. It is a sister store of " Kajitsuen Rebel" in Meguro, whose fruit sandwiches were previously introduced on En-En-Ebi.

The shop is currently holding a "Strawberry Festival" until mid-April. Sweets made with the sweetest of the season, "Amaou Sweets," available only now.

There are a total of 9 sweets made with Amaou available only now (availability varies by day). We recommend the following three items: the "AMAOU Tart", "AMAOU Zucotto", and "AMAOU Parfait".

Amaou Tart (2,300 yen, tax included, same as below)

A 12-centimeter-diameter tart dough is layered with custard cream and whipped cream, and topped with a generous amount of Amaou fruit. A whopping 16 pieces of Amaou are used per plate!

Can you tell how big it is?

The Amaou shines like a bright red ruby. The fruit is like a water balloon, puffed up to the brim and ready to pop. The moment you gently touch it with your teeth, the sweet juice that has been packed into the fruit will overflow into your mouth!

The aftertaste is refreshing with a hint of sourness.

The fresh cream with its firm, firm edges, the rich egg custard, and the crunchy, savory tart dough all have a nostalgic, authentic taste. They enhance the deliciousness of strawberries even more.

And the degree of sweetness is exquisite!

The volume is just right for two or three people to share, but of course, you can also indulge in it all by yourself! You will feel as if you have had enough of the Amaou for several years.

Amaou zuccotto (1,080 yen per cut)

Zucotto is a dome-shaped cake made of sponge dough and filled with cream or ice cream. This time, it is filled with fresh cream and strawberries of Amaou. The whole cake is 21 cm in diameter and is divided into 8 equal portions (for one person).

The first thing that is amazing is the cross section. There are more than 10 strawberries in each cut, and they are all over the surface.

The components are similar to those of a shortcake, but the cream and strawberries are packed so tightly together that the cake is very filling. When you bite into it, the sweet and sour juice and cream mix in your mouth, creating a supreme strawberry milk. The fluffy sponge is slightly thick, but still moist and smooth.

Amao Parfait (2,000 yen)

A parfait with 19 Am aou (!) grains filled to the bottom of the glass, custard cream, fresh cream, and vanilla ice cream. The parfait is a combination of custard cream, whipped cream, and vanilla ice cream. The topping is drizzled with chocolate syrup.

Of the three I had this time, this was the menu item in which I felt the strawberries most directly. The most amount of Amaou is used, and the strawberries are present in both the first and last bit es, so there is no exaggeration in the assertion of strawberries. The "cool Amaou" with cold ice cream was also a nice touch.

Strawberries are the star of the parfait without question.

Incidentally, I recommend that you eat it when the ice cream gradually melts in the second half of the ice cream, and the Amaou in the bottom of the glass becomes meltingly entwined with the Amaou, so it tastes like condensed milk strawberries again.

Strawberries are the star of the show!

What all three menus have in common is that the ingredients used are very simple. The dough (tart or sponge), cream (or ice cream), strawberries, and that's it. Since there are no unnecessary flavors, you can directly enjoy the sweet and juicy flavor of the Maou.

The simplicity enhances the deliciousness of strawberries.

Switching to other varieties after the end of the Amaou season

After the season of Amaou passes, strawberries will be switched to other varieties, and the Strawberry Festival will continue until the end of April. However, this is just a schedule, and the period of availability may vary depending on the harvest. If you want to try them, be sure to visit as soon as possible!

Although there is always a line at the fruit orchard on weekdays and weekends, the manager says that in the morning you can get in without waiting in line. The turnover rate is rather fast since the shop is located inside a train station, and you can get in within 20 to 30 minutes at the most. If you like strawberries, it is worth waiting in line...!
